My fiance & I just got a used 2006 Touareg in Dec. I've driven it so much that its time for an oil change. My fiance called VW to get a price quote for a change. I was shocked to hear that it would be $100+ for a simple oil change. Is that true? I would like to take my SUV to another shop to do a simple oil change for ... Read More
As I myself purchased a new 2007 Touareg in November 2006 for my wife to replace an '02 Toyota Land Cruiser and know what it feels like to buy a car/SUV that needs repairs every 2 months (but no officially a ) Had the Land Cruiser for over 4 years, 66k miles and not a single issue. Had the Touareg for less than 3 months when the first electrical issue arose- ... Read More
after only two months. We bought it with 55000 miles on it, didnt have a clue how bad it was. I am so glad we found a great deal on an 08 Volvo, and I am so glad we decided to trade this in after only two months ownership. Today my husband went to the dealer where we bought the Volvo. They said the VW 2006 Touareg was so bad, so ... Read More
This is my first post here. I know there have been many posts about the braking system of the Touareg. I just had my fronts/rears replaced on my 2006 V8 with 23K miles. Total cost of $2K. For that mileage its just crazy. After complaining to the service manager because of the seemingly early wear and the cost (but that is dealer prices for a car that requires new rotors as ... Did you ever get your Touareg issue resolved with VW or did you just end up selling? I have recently bought one and am expierencing the back pain due to the missalligned seat (no other issues yet). Just wondering if they were ever able to resolve the seat issue. many thanks!
Hi mrresearch. Volkswagen has some very attractive money factors on 2006 Touaregs right now. VW Credit's current buy rate lease money factor and residual value for 36 month lease of a 2006 Touareg V6 with 12,000 miles per year are .00032 and 48%, respectively. Car_man Host Prices Paid Forum
it sounds like VW is the now Land Rover in quality or lack there of. My 2008 LR2, other than a software update for the stereo (which I have yet to have done), has ran flawless in its first 4500 miles in just 2 short months of ownership. I've been researching my next car, as I usually keep one about 2 years. My choices to date are the (in this order) ... Read More
"The 2007 Touareg SUV in dealers now is what Volkswagen refers to as an "early 2007." It's essentially unchanged from the 2006 Touareg except for a new base 3.6-liter V6 in place of the '06 model's 3.2-liter engine." The second coming of the 2007 Volkswagen Touareg (Inside Line) Steve, Host
Here you go, apa1128. VW Credit's current buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2006 Volkswagen Touareg V6 with 15,000 miles per year are .00032 and 47%, respectively. I owned a V6 Touareg for almost 3 years and 50,000 miles and have driven several examples of X5 and FX. You should drive them as well. They are very different from each other. I presume you are buying used. Ride: No comparison; VW wins. BMW is good, but a little busy, The FX rides like a lumberwagon - you feel every crack in the road. Handling: BMW and FX are ... Read More
Hi, The Touareg definately handles the road well, the v6 will give you more than enough power, v8 if you tow. I'm in CT and the VW dealer I bought from in Enfield CT turned out to be horrible. Yes, there are other dealers. I have the 2006. It's a bit tempermental as you have read. If you don't have time to deal with problems, I'd go with the X5, the ... Read More
Thanks Kipa . I'm glad that you find this discussion so helpful. As I mentioned in my previous post, I am sorry to say that Volkswagen's lease program for the 2006 Touareg TDI is not very attractive right now. If you were to lease one through VW Credit for 24 months with 10,000 miles per year, its buy rate lease money factor and residual value should be .00301 and 65%, respectively. ... Read More
Hi Sebis. Unfortunately, Volkswagen's lease program on the 2006 Touareg TDI is not very attractive right now. If you were to lease this truck through Volkswagen Credit right now for 36 months with 15,000 miles per year, its buy rate lease money factor and residual value should be .00301 and 53%, respectively. Hi, I read your message, I won't be buying anymore VW's either. I love my 2006 Touareg with 4900 miles but it makes a loud brake squeal at every stop and the VW DEALER says its normal and part of the design and can't be fixed. I'm getting ready to file under the LEMON LAW to have them take it back. Anyone else experiencing this brake problem? Frustrated in CT
I hope the 2007 Redesign addresses the brake pad noise issue. My NEW 2006 Toureg with 4900 miles has given me a noticable break squeal since the second week I have owned it. I love the vehicle otherwise, but didn't spend a lot of money to be told by the VW Dealer its normal and they can't repair it and I Have to live with it. Anyone else experiencing this issue? ... I'd be happy to help you out, icedave825. Hi stars4304. There's nothing wrong with leasing a 2006 Volkswagen Touareg right now. VW Credit's lease program for it is pretty good. Your friend can always lease one, drive it for a few years to see if they like it and then decide whether they want to buy it at the end of their lease. One of the benefits of doing this is if she gets into an accident in her ... Read More
Hi dsnow77. As I just mentioned to another community member $500 over dealer invoice is a good price for a leased 2006 Volkswagen Touareg. If you tell me what this truck's exact selling price is, I can calculate what its lease payment should be using VW Credit's actual lease program. Car_man Host Prices Paid Forum
Hi capodanno. $500 over dealer invoice is a good price for a leased 2006 Touareg. Make sure that the tells you its exact MSRP and selling price though so you can see for yourself. These numbers are also useful because they allow one to double check their vehicle's lease payment. The money factor that you were quoted for this truck is right in line with VW Credit's current program for it. ... Read More
Hi mlroberts55. Volkswagen is providing dealer cash on the 2006 Touareg, however this dealer cash is not compatible with VW Credit's special lease program. So you can't use it to negotiate a lower capitalized cost for your lease. The money factor that you were quoted looks a little high to me. My father-in-law just sold me his very low miles 2004 Touareg, and he bought a new 2006. (Both V8's) I have always told him to use Premium when he owned the '04, and now the '06. I did use 88 octane once, and because I'm in Salt Lake City, the elevation doesn't affect it a lot, but power difference was slight. The reason Chevron is great to use is that VW ... Read More

This is the begining of the model year, so don't expect 8k off list on new 2006 V8 T REG just yet. As for leasing, you can use a diffenent bank other than VCI credit and still use the dealer cash. Hi tdo123. Volkswagen is not currently providing any sort of cash incentives on the 2006 Touareg. Carman Could you please give me some insight on VW's for 2006. I have heard that there are some incentives on the V8 in the US. Here is what I have been able to get from the dealer: V8 Touareg MSRP list at $56,175 (including destination) and the invoice is $51,140 (including advertising, int. reserve and a $25 port charge). The dealer finally came back to me and said that they ... Read More
3.6L and 275hp...sounds like VW's new 3.6L. In the Passat it makes 280hp so I would assume it will make it's way in to the Touareg. I would guess spring/summer.
