a used 2009 VW Rabbit 2 dr Automatic with 10,240 miles for $13,000. It has the ipod upgrade as well (we really like this). Does this seem like a fair price? I have a plan to buy a New 2009 VW Rabbit 2.5L S / Automatic model. I got an offer at OTD $13988 from MSRP $18164. Since VW will stop Rabbit next year and change Golf lineup, I am expecting a very good deal at the end of this year and at the end of production. Do you think OTD $14K is a good deal? Thanks. Congrats on your new Rabbit! I did a similar switch back in April, went from a 2005 Jetta GL 2.0 (with AT though) to a 2007 Rabbit 2 door (with AT also). I liked the Jetta, but had it only 3 months before it was totaled. But I made out OK in the switch, as the Rabbit is clearly a better car than my Jetta. Sure has improved (ride, handling, quiet, power) since my last VW Golf, a 2004 4 door 5 speed. Cabin materials and quality are even a little better, but they have always been superb. Engine rpm seem to be 1,000 rpm lower than on the old 2.0. The 2.5 is super smooth, especially compared to the early production run which I test drove when it came out. If I didn't know better, ... The new Rabbit should also have factory iPod integration via the MDI and the special cable. It shows song info and it integrates the iPod like an iPod. The MDI only works on the RNS-510 but the RCD-510 and RCD-310 both work with it. The RCD-510 is like a non nav RNS-510 with no hard drive and a built in CD changer.
