Re: Bought a 2009 Rabbit S 2 Door Stick Shift this weekend [micweb]

Congrats on your new Rabbit! I did a similar switch back in April, went from a 2005 Jetta GL 2.0 (with AT though) to a 2007 Rabbit 2 door (with AT also). I liked the Jetta, but had it only 3 months before it was totaled. But I made out OK in the switch, as the Rabbit is clearly a better car than my Jetta. As you noted, more power (I only have 150 hp though), better handling, ... Read More...

Bought a 2009 Rabbit S 2 Door Stick Shift this weekend

Sure has improved (ride, handling, quiet, power) since my last VW Golf, a 2004 4 door 5 speed. Cabin materials and quality are even a little better, but they have always been superb. Engine rpm seem to be 1,000 rpm lower than on the old 2.0. The 2.5 is super smooth, especially compared to the early production run which I test drove when it came out. If I didn't know better, ... 2009 VW Rabbit Changes

Re: Sept 2009 [rv65]

The new Rabbit should also have factory iPod integration via the MDI and the special cable. It shows song info and it integrates the iPod like an iPod. The MDI only works on the RNS-510 but the RCD-510 and RCD-310 both work with it. The RCD-510 is like a non nav RNS-510 with no hard drive and a built in CD changer. The current crop of non nav radios don't support the MDI. ... Read More...

Re: 2009 VW Rabbit Changes [rv65]

Another change or two to mention. On the 2 door model, the center armrest feature is still not available. The change is that unlike the 2008 model, you can't have the dealer install the center armrest as a dealer-installed feature for 2009. My understanding is that the armrest has an i-pod adapter built in, but only on the 4 door model. The 2 door model has an "audio-input" ... Read More...

08 Rabbit concerns?

May be buying a Rabbit

A two door... I've been all over the map lately, with some very different options. I started out looking at the Infiniti M35. Then I thought about a new Sonata, since the '09 version has a much improved interior. I even considered a Malibu for a while. There is something drawing me to the Rabbit. I like the solidity. I like the simplicity. I really think Volkswagen ... Read More...
