2008 VW Rabbit 2dr Automatic with Alloy Wheels

Purchased the above car (only option was the allow wheels) on November 24, 2007 in Southeast. MSRP $17,655 Invoice $ 17,174 Paid $16,868 You can definitely get a decent deal on this car (used multiple dealer quotes to pressure the price down to what I wanted to pay). Wish it had a center armrest though. Read More...

Baron VW

I picked up a 2008 4-Door Rabbit S with manual transmission, ESP and Sirius Delete options. MSRP was $18,650. Paid $18,100 before tax, tags, GAP insurance, doc fee and transport fee (they had to go get it out of state) and $500 down payment. APR 5.9% on 60 months made my monthly payment around $397. While I was waiting for my paperwork to be completed, the new car sales ... Read More...

Bought a 2009 Rabbit S 2 Door Stick Shift this weekend

Sure has improved (ride, handling, quiet, power) since my last VW Golf, a 2004 4 door 5 speed. Cabin materials and quality are even a little better, but they have always been superb. Engine rpm seem to be 1,000 rpm lower than on the old 2.0. The 2.5 is super smooth, especially compared to the early production run which I test drove when it came out. If I didn't know better, ... Volkswagen Rabbit Audio & Entertainment System Problems

Cheap CD Player

My 2008 Rabbit's 2nd CD player just quit working again. I bought the car in June and the 1st CD player quit reading burned cd's first and 2 days later all cds. I called VW service and took it in. VW over nighted me a new unit and installed in about 20 minutes for free last October. Now this player has the same issues. No cd will play. What gives VW? Why are you installing ... Read More...

2009 VW Rabbit Changes

Re: 2009 VW Rabbit Changes [rv65]

Another change or two to mention. On the 2 door model, the center armrest feature is still not available. The change is that unlike the 2008 model, you can't have the dealer install the center armrest as a dealer-installed feature for 2009. My understanding is that the armrest has an i-pod adapter built in, but only on the 4 door model. The 2 door model has an "audio-input" ... Read More...

Mazda3 2.3 vs. '07 VW Rabbit

Re: Mazda3 2.3 vs. '07 VW Rabbit, auto & manual [myershift]

The Mazda3 IS noisy. In my opinion, many car magazines tend not to be systematic in their testing so I rely on Consumer Reports. As it turns out CR agrees with you about the Mazda3, i.e. "road noise is pronounced." Inerestingly Tony Swan, one of the Car and Driver reviewers found the Mazda3 "quiet". When I tested the Mazda3 earlier this fall I did not find the noise ... Read More...

Up coming Golf/Rabbit VI

http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/autoexpressnews/213369/volkswagen_golf.html Looks like turbo charge alone is too unsophisticated for a "driver on demand" GTI, as the only way to force fed w/o lag is super-&-turbo charge (unless it's a BMW engine): "Engine details have yet to be confirmed, but VW’s clever 1.4-litre TSI petrol powerplant will lead ... Surprised myself

Well...after researching the Mazda 3 5-door S Touring and the Rabbit for 2 weeks, I was almost sure I would end up with the Mazda. I did not. I just drove home my 2008 4 dr. Rabbit in Sage Green and for now, feel sure I made the right choice. My neighbor just bought his 2nd Passat in 4 years when the first one went off warranty, and purchased 2 used Jettas for his daughters ... Read More...
