John, I purchased a used, 2005, Volkswagen Beetle Turbo GLS for my wife in July of 2008. At the time of purchase, the vehicle had approximately 24K miles, and to date has 32K miles. I found out that there is no transmission dipstick, the only way for them to check the transmission level is to let it cool for 24-48 hours (means being without a car) and they still wont be able to fix the slipping in the slipping in the transmission..
