Volkswagen New Beetle Convertible
2005 VW Convertible Beetle, 6 speed automatic, 2.0
This is my third VW Beetle, and only my first Beetle convertible. My first new beetle was a 99, what a horror! Everything you can think of from the first month I bought that car can and went wrong. Three transmissions replaced to defective paint, front wheels locked, smoke pouring out of the dashboard and vents, etc. I was able to finally turn in the car with more than ... Read More...
Re: Buy a new one? [katyhy]
I just leased a 2008 SE about 3 months ago. I have 2000 miles on it. I also own a 2006 VW Passat and used to work for VW (2 years ago). Quite honestly, I would never buy a VW without having a warranty.... I would also get rid of the car once it was out of warranty. From what I have witnessed, you are really gambling with these vehicles. Don't get me wrong I love the fit and finish, ... Read More...
Volkswagen Beetle Maintenance and Repair
Passengers Banging Heads in the Back Seat!
HI, I was hoping someone can give advice on this problem that my backseat passengers keep having in my 2006 New Beetle (TDI ;-). Everyone who sits back there bangs their heads on the pillar behind the rear side window. The Insurance Hiway safety institute has crashtest photos of dummies hitting their heads on that same pillar, http://www.iihs.org/ratings/rating.aspx?id=246. ... Read More...
Volkswagen Beetle Transmission Problems
So long Volkswagen...
My 15 year love affair with Volkswagen has officially come to an end. I would like to scream from the roof tops that this company doesn't back their product and does not care if they lose loyal customers. And I will never buy another car from them again. I leased a 2007 VW New Beetle in October of 2006. It is a 5 speed manual transmission. It has 10,000 miles on it to date. ... Read More...
Volkswagen Beetle Maintenance and Repair
Re: Looking for a little piece of mind here... [mrrk47]
We (my wife) had a 2000 NB that we bought new and put 88K miles on it. The car never really had any problems to speak of. It had a power relay ($30) fail at around 80K. The car was maintained as per the maintenance schedule, by the local dealer. Properly maintaining any vehicle will cost a fair amount of money, but we feel its money well spent. I just traded the car this ... Read More...
