2006 VW's all have a 4 year, 50,000 mile warranty. I own a 2007 Jetta, a 2008 New Beetle Convertible, both with this warranty. I also have a 2009 Jetta. In 2009 VW cut back to 3 years, 36,000 miles. Check it out on Edmunds for the year and vehicle for original warranty information. Bel Air Car Guy

2006 VW cars should be under a 4 year, 50,000 mile warranty. This starts from the date the car was put in service. If you purchased the car new, then of course you know that date. If you purchased it used, I would take it to a VW dealer. They can check it on the computer records for VW and let you know if it is still in warranty. By the ... Read More

  • Buy a new one?

    Written by: moto7 on Apr 25, 2008 4:00:37 PM

My wife really wants a new beetle conv. but after reviewing some of the problems mentioned here, I'm a little cautious. Most of the serious and common problems seem to be with the 2004's. Does anyone know if Volks has corrected any of the consistent engineering/mfg issues like the windows, etc. on the newer models (2007, 2008)??. Is there a blog or website that informs of VW problem addressing?

My 15 year love affair with Volkswagen has officially come to an end. I would like to scream from the roof tops that this company doesn't back their product and does not care if they lose loyal customers. And I will never buy another car from them again. I leased a 2007 VW New Beetle in October of 2006. It is a 5 speed manual transmission. It has 10,000 miles on ... Read More

I was number 10 in this string of VW Beetle light issues back in April 2007. I have still not found out what the problem is and it is still ocurring. Recently I have had my red oil can light set off a loud siren which continues on a regular basis for hours - similar to the one that goes off briefly when you need gas only - louder and more ... Greetings drenga. Volkswagen Credit's current buy rate lease money factor and residual value for 36 month lease of a 2007 VW Beetle Convertible (non-Triple White) with 15,000 miles per year are .00043 and 58%, respectively. The numbers for an otherwise identical 48 month lease are .00108 and 50%. As you can see, the 36 month program is much more attractive right now. I could really use some help. I was just at the dealer looking at the new beetle conv. to see the $219 lease special, which of course, no cars are left at that price. I would lease a 2007 conv. but the price the dealer is quoting me is $100 over what the man you replied to earlier is saying he would pay. I would buy the car after the lease ... Read More

my family has been buying VWs for over 25 years now, and we've ever model basically except the new beetles-anywhere between 1998-2007- They are the worst cars VW makes. Beetles and the 2000-2004 jettas are crazy massed produce so alot of stuff just over looked. i would suggest the Passats or golfs.
