Re: 2009 Jetta TDI Sedan Price Proposal [gagrice]
I hear you. I know they're doing that $500 cash rebate for clunkers, but I don't have one to trade. Was hoping to learn of additional dealer holdbacks that could get me to the negotiating table around or even below invoice. Here in Atlanta there's over 150 Jettas in stock at the Top 3 VW Dealers and I'd be willing to hike out to an additional 2 if they were pricing competitively. ... Read More...

Re: Who is getting close to TMV on TDI Loyal Edition? [gfr1]
So if I did my math correctly, you got app 41 mpg.? (1,200 miles/29 gal=) As a comparo I ran a 1970 VW Beetle (leaded regular) and got 32/34 mpg on the highway. 80 mph was like right on the edge and 85 mph you were fighting. I once read a book going from the San Francisco Bay Area to Riverside, CA @ 70 mph. (don't try this @ home folks) Looking back on it it seems every time I ... Read More...

Re: can you use bio-diesel? [ruking1]
Many of us intended/hoped/figured on using biodiesel on 2009 Jetta TDI's...only to find out that it does not really work out very well. The issue is the new DPF-Diesel Particulate Filter with the 2009 emissions system, etc. A guy named Jason Burroughs bought a 2009 Jetta TDI with the express purpose of using only b100 from the beginning and showing viability ... Re: 2010 Jetta Sportwagen TDI vs. 2009 [blaurence]
I work at a Metro Atlanta Dealer and waiting for the 2010 Sportwagen is definitely the way to go. If you are lucky enough to find a Sportwagen now you'll pay close to MSRP or over in some parts of the country. This close to a new model year and a facelift for the SW it would not be a good financial decision. Our TDI SW's are on order and expected for 60 days or so, I'd encourage ... Read More...

2009 Jetta Sportwagen -
New to VW's and fascinated with new 2009 Jetta Sportwagen but have two concerns: Sunroof: Have always had sunroof on past cars and am looking at one with new Panoramic sunroof. Any help on noise concerns besides the usual vacuum related issues that are often alleviated by cracking a window? Plus concerned over only mesh cover for two reasons: (1) heat and (2) noise. ...
