2003 Volvo S60 vs 2004 Volkswagen Jetta GLS

I am on the fence about buying one of these two automobiles. Both are selling for about the same price ($9K) and have about the same amount of mileage (45K). Well, someone suggested that VW has "lifetime corrosion warranty" (on these pages earlier). I guess, using that argument, you should have waited until your floor rusts away and then claim it under "lifetime corrosion" warranty... so much for that "warranty".... Read More...

Just paid $2200 to replace my water saturated carpets - not covered by VW. Since 1998 VW has knowned that clogged drainage from the pollen filter and drainage channels from the sunroof causes severe water leaks from the front engine area onto the front carpets. Have you had the battery checked? Free at Autozone. Loose or corroded connections on battery. Loose belt on alternator. Bad alternator. Bad diodes in alternator. Bad dashboard dimmer switch. Agreed that the higher density of diesel fuel means that a given volume size of onboard tank carries a larger weight of diesel fuel, but is this really a big benefit? My Volvo V70 gasoline 168hp 2.4L with 5-spd auto has a range of over 500 hwy miles with its 18 gal tank, and my wife's XC90 3.2L petrol 6A will go over 500 hwy mi on its 21 gal tank.
