2011 Volkswagen Jetta SportWagen S 4dr Wagon (2.5L 5cyl 6A)

Drives well. Seats are very comfortable in front and back. Lots of headroom (a 6 footer will have several inches of headroom in the front seats). Good visibility. Lots of features for the price.

Best Features

The fold down back seats fold flat but require removal of the headrest and pulling up the bottom seat. Lots of cargo space. There are several small storage compartments and (most important) sufficient cup holders. Turn signal clicking sound is pleasant. Generally good acceleration even going up hill (my previous car was a Grand AM and the Sportwagen performs nearly as well while getting much better mileage). Both passenger and driver seats have 2-way power (seat back tilts forward and back). The many convenience features.

Worst Features

The S model lacks a means of disabling the horn from sounding when the doors are locked using the remote. This is VERY annoying. The console is slightly too long toward the front (very minor). The steering wheel does not telescope which may make holding the steering wheel uncomfortable for some drivers. (be sure to test drive!). A bit slow accelerating out of a full stop but plenty of pep to pass or go uphill. 8-way power seats instead of 2-way would have been nice. The owner manual combines information about multiple models with different controls. So you have to sit in the vehicle while reading the manual in order to get any real use out of it.

All Jetta Sportwagens have a standard telescoping steering wheel, at least in the American market.

Also, the dealer should be able to disarm the horn beep when locking the car.
