I only had my silver Sportswagen TDi for 2 1/2 wks. I noticed a milky spots around my paint. When I parked it in the garage and the shadow from the sun just beemed in just right. I contacted the dealership rightaway about it and their treatment for my paint problem on my BRAND NEW car is "heat" and "rubbing compound".
I requested to talk to a VW Rep but apparently Reps don't talk to customers only the dealership will.
The car only has 1300mi and I am ready to trade it in for a Subaru Outback or Toyota Venza due to the fact that the driver and rear driver door rattles over bumps and the paint job is horrible. If I can find this flaw at 1300 mi and ONLY in 2wks, what would it be in 3yr
The TDI engine is a gas sipper. I am averaging about 38-39mpg but I do live in the cold weather so that doesnt really help mpg.
Interior is simple and not all fancy
more cup holders, interior storage, could use about 4 inches being wider and more leg room for rear passenger.
My dealership states that VW does not offer engine block heaters for TDI in USA but in Canada versions they have them for the TDI???? The Diesel engine for winter time need to warm up faster as they do run rough. I really wish VW has a OEM factory engine block heater available.
Wish the paint can be better during the painting process. This is ALL on VW.
Well I will leave it for you to decide... here is my story, it is fairly short.
Purchased 2011 Jetta Sportswagen TDI on 5-13-11 and on 5-15-11 when I went to start the car after refueling I received the Immobilizer Active warning on the center display.
Needless to say if you receive this warning after 552 miles and you are stranded in heavy rain and you wait for 3.5 hours for a wrecker there is plenty of time to stare at the inside of it....just staring and waiting....my wife was able to finally leave work to come pick me up in my 398,000 mile 1990 Honda Accord (that has never left me stranded), while me 552 mile 2011 Jetta was towed away in the dark.....great job VW!
Service Center called today to tell me that the instrument cluster had failed.
What great quality!
Car of course is under warranty....so what!
