I traded in a 2001 Jetta 1.8T for a GTI
VR6 no comparison!!The torque and power
of the VR6 is just incredible. The car
feels much bigger than it is. The
GRUNTTT from the VR6 at around 3000 rpm
is wonderfull. This is my 7th VW and
they just keep getting better. NEVER a
lack of power like the Turbo.
Great leather interior, heated seats,
and FAST FAST FAST.
Monsoon stereo stinks big time. Invest
in better speakers.
I just bought this car a couple days
ago but here are my initial
impressions. This car is a blast to
drive. I got the 17" wheels that hug
the earth tightly and turbo zooms away
over 3000 RPM. At RPMs lower then 3000,
you'll being waiting a second for that
zoom feeling to kick in.
I was originally going to get the RSX
type S without even test-driving this
sporty hatch. In comparison, the VW
feels much a more richly refined and an
elegant machine. Be careful reading the
reviews since the new more powerful
turbo engine just came out with the
2003 model year.
Pure German refinement
The cup holder is above the stereo
stressing nerves that a slight spill
will cost hundreds. There is a VW
accessory to put a cup holder in the
armrest that Iíll be looking into
I have had the car for about a month
and have liked it more and more with
each passing day. Really has a lot of
get up and go, leaves Civics, Minis
and RSX's in the dust, which I drove.
No question, this has the most
responsive engine. The excellent fit
and trim of the interior also sold
me. The GTI interior looks like an
expensive car. The hatchback design
