I thought it might be the negative equity from your Audi, but if the difference is $3700, then that isn't it... oil pressure problem!
I have a 2000 Vw golf gti 2.8L and recentely my oil pressure light turned on and i havent driven it eversense. im guessing i have a bad oil pressure sensor or bad oil pump. if anyone can suggest some ways to diagnose that please help. oil level is fine and the engine still ran fine with out any knockings or unusual sounds. could the type of oil effect it?

actually i overlaid the dyno results from automobile magazine and got something unexpected. from 1000-2000rpm the ms3 and gti tq curves are 100% identical. from 2000-2600rpm the gti deviates at most about 15tq, still roughly the same tq curves. after 2600rpm the gti flattens out at ~190tq while the ms3 continues to climb until around 3000rpm where it flattens out at 250tq. strictly speaking, the ms3 IS making more tq below ... The 2000 GTIs were mostly built in Germany, although some were built in Brazil (not Argentina), until mid 2001 when all GTI production was moved to Brazil. I looked at the test for a GTI 1.8 from 2000 and the 0-60 time is identical with the Civic at 7.6 seconds and by the 1/4 mile the SI is pulling ahead. One other thing I thought about just now regards the older, 150 GTI 1.8T. How would that compare to the new Si. I'd recommend it - I sold a 2000 Passat 1.8t that had approx 24k miles on it without a single problem. I realize 24k miles isn't exactly a long term test but no problems whatsoever is an indication of continued reliability IMO. Sold the Passat for a 2002 1.8t GTI. I'm the proud owner of a 2000 GTI GLX in black with beige leather interior. I love my car... It's everything I wanted. Grinding in Reverse Gear?
