What’s new
Volkswagen doubles the number of trim levels in the Golf line: During the year, four-door models are offered in entry-level base and City trim, as well as midlevel Celebration trim; the GL remains the best-equipped four-door Golf. In addition, a two-door Sport model joins the lineup; it has distinctive styling cues like seven-spoke alloy wheels and blacked-out taillights, along with standard sport seats and a power sunroof. All Golfs meet 1997 side-impact standards, and the front seatbelts are now height-adjustable and equipped with pre-tensioners. Daytime running lights are standard across the line.
Cost to DriveCost to drive estimates for the 1995 Volkswagen Golf Celebration 4dr Hatchback and comparison vehicles are based on 15,000 miles per year (with a mix of 55% city and 45% highway driving) and energy estimates of $3.64 per gallon for regular unleaded in Ohio.

Great car - I Bought It Twice

1994 Volkswagen Golf GL 4dr Hatchback
I just re-purchased my 1994 Volkswagen Golf four years after selling it. It was such a good car and the only car I ever regret selling. I've covered 180,000 kms. in it and it has been solid, with no major problems to speak of. It still looks, rides, and runs like it did eleven years ago when I originally purchased it.

Lots of pep and comfortable

1994 Volkswagen Golf GL 4dr Hatchback
I enjoyed my Golf 3 immensely. The power to weight is just right with a manual. It's also a very easy car to work on. If you practice a routine maintenance schedule, this engine will not let you down.

Good and Bad

1994 Volkswagen Golf GL 2dr Hatchback
My 1994 Volkswagen Golf is expensive to fix, have has had lots of problems as its mileage increases. However, it is fun to drive, has very good pick up, and is faster than newer cars that I have driven.

Good car as long as nothing breaks

1994 Volkswagen Golf GL 4dr Hatchback
This car is great as long as you don't
have to replace parts. Volkswagen
parts are through the roof! I love my
VW, but I need to part with it to get a
car that has affordable parts.
