  Are you buying it from a VW dealer? If so, have the dealer pre-certify it and pay the difference for the extended warranty. If you are not getting it at a VW dealer, call your local VW dealer and ask them what options they can provide and check to make sure the car is absolutely out of warranty.   Yes, this is an issue. My EOS 2008 LUX has had top issues and transmission issues. The lurch when you take your foot off the brake while in drive is a design defect.   Ours is a 2008, had it almost 2 years, no roof operational issues yet (knock on wood). In reading the manual, the only rule we try to follow is opening and closing it on level (or close to it) ground.

  I was pricing an Eos at the CarsDirect website, and in the Audio Options section I saw this: Dynaudio Premium Sound System (DISC) NO LONGER AVAILABLE for factory ordering as of November 4, 2007 Does anyone know if another premium sound package will be offered? I've driven an Eos with the standard sound and wasn't really impressed (bit of a bass freak).

  Hmmm... without knowing the total number of Eos owners participating here, how can one calculate a "percentage"? VW issued a TSB on the problem (see VWvortex) which proves the problem exists. I know I could be suffering from Internet Research Paranoia (IRA)but that's the cross I bear.

  I'll be needing to replace my 2002 Cabrio soon. I'm never in a hurry to have a car payment! When I test drove the Eos recently, the dealer was willing to negotiate and actually sell the car at a decent price, I just wasn't ready. No financing deals however.
