2012 Volkswagen CC Sport 4dr Sedan (2.0L 4cyl Turbo 6AM)
Review
Over-all I love this car.
However the experience of driving it is one in which you are aware of everything the car is doing.
Personally I believe good engineering means the car should feel natural and respond to your inputs the way you intend.
This car definitely does NOT deliver in this respect.
On the highway is where this car shines as a comfortable grand touring sedan..uh..coupe.
In the city it is almost the opposite.
Favorite Features
Cruising at highway speeds is firm giving a feeling of total control even at 80mph.
Seats are FANTASTIC and comfortable for long drives.
Braking firmly from high speeds is smooth and confidence inspiring.
Great cruise control, taps up/down to next 5mph increment (ends up being 2-3 too slow).
Many CCs the speedometer/car reads high by 2-3mph, makes this feature annoying.
Excellent turning radius for FWD car, steering is light at low speeds firmer on the highway.
Makes parking lots a breeze to navigate.
Powerful 4 cylinder engine makes pleasing sounds even when driven aggressively, plenty of passing power.
Suggested Improvements
City driving. Wind pressure buffeting the cabin (my ears pop)at slow speeds. Car emits low pitched thumping noises frequently.
Brake feel, sudden increases in stopping force with no change in pressure.
Initial throttle response, DSG feels like lugging a manual transmission from a standstill.
Initially tip in car accelerates much less than desired more throttle causes by way more.
Lurching downshift in "D" mode. Slowing down then pressing the accelerator causes first nothing at all then a quick downshift and a lurch forward.
Not smooth at all.
