I have had someone look at it twice and I keep gettting the code P1582 (Manufacturer specific code?) and P0411 (which is "secondary air injection system incorrect air flow detected").   I have a 2000 VW Cabrio with 60,000 miles on it and it does the same thing when the engine is cold. It's the computer transmission fluid sensor malfunctioning. There's nothing wrong with the transmission. Try warming up your car first. That seems to work.

  I just bought a 2000 VW Cabrio(automatic). It seems to be slipping out of gear between first and second and it only has 80,000 miles on it! I dont see how this is possible!? I am hoping it isnt the transmission....any ideas as to what it could be!?

  I only have one key to my car but we contacted the VW dealership and to get another I think you have to give them some sort of number and they have to make it for you.
