Re: Govt. Data [backy]
That's funny. I never heard of a loss leader in the new car business. Loss leaders are meant to pull you in to buy something else in ADDITION to the loss leader item. For example, the supermarket offers bananas at .10/ pound, knowing that while you're in their store you'll buy milk, bread, condoms, etc. at the not so loss leader like price. Thus stated, it isn't like ... Read More...
Bump!
This comparison between Honda Fit & Hyundai Accent was pretty good. I only read the latter parts of the thread & didn't see any comparisons of the MPG of both cars. My wife's 2008 Accent, bought in Dec 2007 gave 30 to 32 thru the winter & rose just a bit as the weather warmed. I was a bit disappointed, thinking a Honda Fit might have given better MPG. Finally, I got to take ... Read More...
mpg a bit low for a small hatchback
I really like the look of the Hyundai Accent Hatchback, and the price, and the warranty, etc. My biggest problem is the low mpg owners are getting. I currently own a 2007 Yaris Hatchback, and I am please with the mpg. I am considering another new car, but the Accent mpg should be better than it is. Read More...
Amazing MPG's
I have no clue what all these other drivers have loaded in there hyundai accent hatchbacks? But I have a 2007 SE that I drive like an old lady on downers. I get 35 and sometimes 37 mpg. Yes you heard me correctly. I have to drive mostly up hill for 105 miles before getting on flat land when I drive back and forth to LA. I also must drive 40 miles up hill coming back and trust ... Re: Hyundai Accent: Real World MPG [trendmonger]
Trendmonger you make it sound like a government conspiracy and they lied to you about your Hyundai's gas mileage. Keep in mind all the EPA does is test the vehicles in a similar manner on the same test conditions. The results should be relative to each vehicle so if vehicle one gets 20 and vehicle two gets 30, then some drivers might get 10 on vehicle one and 15 on vehicle ... Read More...
Re: wife's 08 Accent [litesong1]
I own three hyundais. 2 Accents (2002 and 2005) and a new Entourage (2007). Great value cars. The 2002 had engine warranty work done at 85,000 miles and they only charged me $15 on a $2000 bill. MPG may be a bit lower than a Vibe, Yaris or Fit but it would take years to recoup the difference. My five speed gets a solid 32 - 37 mpg depending on city/highway and my daughters ... Read More...
wife's 08 Accent
My wife has a new Accent...all because of me. Hope I purchased right altho we bought quickly when the Hyundai dealer gave us a price we weren't going to see with any other car including lifetime oil changes. Tried a Vibe & Yaris. Would have adored the extra Yaris MPG, but the extra thousands of dollars, the poor warranty & lack of 6 airbags put me off. Having some buyer's ... Read More...
Re: Hyundai Accent: Real World MPG [79customd]
We have had our 2007 GLS 4 Dour Auto w./ 15" Alloys since Novemeber and my commentary on MPG is.... EXTREMELY DISSATISFIED. The vehicle is primarily used 5 days a week city driving 8 Miles Each way and we are averaging between 15 & 16 MPG CITY. The car has 5,000 miles. We have had 3 Oil Changes and will be getting the fourth next month. The tires have been maintained with ... Read More...
