I am from near Ottawa (Canada), and I have the same problem too. I investigated, and the local Ford dealer told me there are 800+ cases in North America with 2007/08 Ford Edge rims. As well, I requested free replacement rims (covered under warranty).. but these are on massive back-order... they're talking 2-3 months before in-stock since there are so many cases ... Read More...

We just got our new Limited Creme AWD and love it. The 20" inch chrome wheels look pretty neat, even for an old geezer like me The seats are what sold me. The one we bought just happened to have the hitch option. I never really looked at the hitch until today. What in the world would you pull with a 1" receiver? I didn't know they made such a thing. I have a FWD 2007 Edge. Left wheel clunked when it dropped onto a depressed manhole cover. Sometimes over speed bumps. First time, dealer couldn't replicate it. Recently, on a small pothole on the dealer's lot, it was loud and clear and the tech specified a replacement strut. Not only did it not cure it, but it could be louder! I have a 2007 Ford Edge and the sunroof cover is sticking. It will not open sometimes, and when it opens it slams open. This is most common when it is hot out. There is a neoprene filler that is expanding. There was a technical service bulletin issued for 2007 Edge's that were made before 8/1/2007. If you look, the posts concerning the Transmission issues are on the first year of the model. They had some kinks to iron out with the Transmission that was just a Software issue. Nothing serious. My company participates in the X-plan program. We currently have a 2004 Mercury Mountaineer w/Luxury Package & V-8 AWD. It has been a great vehicle,but the one problem besides the obvious MPG of 12 city and 20 Highway is the leg room in the middle row of seats. My youngest Son is 15 and is 6'4" tall. I'm having the same problem regarding the rattle in my 2007 ford edge. It is the clips in the sunroof. I have had my car in twice to the dealer (we bought the car 6 weeks ago) and I have another appointment today for the same problem. They have already replaced the clips twice (broken) but as soon as you open the roof and then close it, the clips break. Our service advisor ... Read More...

I had the X-Plan from my work, purchased a 2007 on Christmas 2007. I had a low budget to work on, and got an extra $2K rebate for the 2007 as compared to the 2008, and I plan to keep it 10+ years, so 1 model year really won't make much of a difference in resale in 2020.
