On an historic basis, I might actually believe that, however, since the Gen 8 Civic and the Mark 5 Rabbit/Jetta/GTI/GLI debuted (both in 2006), I'm thinking that if anything, the roles have been reversed. Sorry, that's not how Honda does it. Honda doesn't do options. So a stick and AT are two different trim levels. Leather isn't an option, but a trim level. Navi isn't an option, but a trim level. I am really surprised at Honda for not issuing a recall immediately to correct the problem for all owners. They did issue a recall. Either, they didn't have your current address or you haven't been checking the notices on edmunds.com. That's nothing short of ridiculous, bquigley125. I have a 2006 Civic Sedan with 24,000 and my rear tires are completely shot. They are the crappy Bridgestone’s, so I know that's part of it, but come on! I buy a Civic for things to last, not to start pouring $$ into it 18-months from the date of purchase. Yes this story has been retold here many times since the 2006 redesign came about. It may not be abnormal as far as Honda (who has to foot the repair bill) is concerned but it seems the Civic in its new clothes is especially vulnerable to this type damage.
