BMW 7-Series Maintenance and Repair

Re: Knowing the problems, would you buy again? [rcharcom740]

I am getting pretty scared reading all the entries about all the problems on the older 740 BMW’s. I purchased a 1998 740IL in 2004, traded it in on a 2000 740IL in 2006, and traded that in on a 2001 740IL this week. I have been very lucky as I have not had any major problems with them at all. The only two problems I’ve had were with the NAV on the 2000 & 2001 and I could not find ... Read More...

Re: I have a 2006 750Li and it has been without troubles [bmlexus]

bmlexus, Sorry for the delay in responding, I don't check this forum too often. To your questions, here are some of my misc ramblings: I don't have any information or experience with the 740s, the model before my 750Li. Since I went from a SUV to the 750Li, the BMW didn't seem too big to me :) I've had a few friends with smaller cars test drive my 750Li and they are amazed ... Read More...

Re: Mercedes instead of a BMW as your luxury car of choice? [bmlexus]

Yeah, you know what I found in doing my research? That there's an ageist component to the demographics of MBZ afficionados, which is really weird to me. According to some of those surveyed, they thought MBZ "was for old people." I responded, "well maybe it's because they last so long!" I plan to keep my 2006 CLS500 for over 120,000 miles, a) because I drive ALOT and ... Read More...

I have a 2006 750Li and it has been without troubles

I've owned the Lexus 430, LX470, GS430, ES300, Mercedes e320 and more. The LX470 was the most trouble free. The Mercedes was the most trouble prone. This was my first BMW and I bought it new last year. I have about 14K miles on it and the only thing that has gone "bad" was a leaky valve on one of the tires (which the on board computer alerted me to as a "low tire warning") ... Read More...

Re: Feedback from owners [fsmmcsi]

I bought my 750i 2006 last August and have by now 14,000 miles. No problem to date, the car is wonderful. It came with the sport tires, luxury seats, premium sound, satellite radio, convenience package, self close doors/trunk. The Pirelli tires are superb, even in the Maryland winter. The car delivers excellent driving, braking, accelleration. You are always ... Read More...
