Good Idea, Bad Engineering.
Vehicle
2005 Ford F-350 Super Duty 4dr SuperCab XLT 4WD LB (5.4L 8cyl 6M)
Review
The truck in general is a good truck. But at 30,000 miles I had the turbo replaced. Now with 50,000 miles my gauge cluster, shocks, and CD player are being replaced. The front suspension is being rebuilt by the dealer due to a terrible shimmy at all speeds (TSB). The brake pedal can be pushed all the way to floor, which I'm told is normal for this truck. Only 6 months old and 50,000 miles, I wouldn't recommend this truck to anyone, BUY A DODGE. I was a long time Ford fan, not anymore. Luckily I'll be getting a new one at 200,000 miles
Favorite Features
Transmission.
Suggested Improvements
Front suspension not holding up, too many problems for a new truck.

Great Truck

2005 Ford F-350 Super Duty 4dr Crew Cab Lariat 4WD LB (5.4L 8cyl 6M)
Review
A drug addict crossed the yellow line and hit me head on. Long story short, the Chevy 1/2 ton was sent to the junkyard and its driver went to the hospital. My truck has about $5000 worth of damage, and I barely felt a thing.
Favorite Features
Headroom and roominess. Tow command system. Seats.

no need for diesel
Vehicle
2005 Ford F-350 Super Duty 4dr Crew Cab XL 4WD LB (5.4L 8cyl 6M)
Review
Definitely the biggest on my block, and the new 3V 5.4L V8 is all I really need. If you're not regularly towing 10K+ lbs on long trips, don't waste the $5K on the diesel, and stop waking up the neighbors. :) This new 5.4 makes more HP than the old 460, and almost as much torque but is 2 litres smaller. I get 14MPG around town despite the 315/70/17 (35") BFG all terrains I added. The 2.5" RevTek level kit ($215) gives it a perfect stance, and the tough exterior design is the best of the Big 3. I bought the XL because real trucks were meant to have rubber floors and basic options. Ford's chrome, carpet and leather don't really hold up over time especially if you use your truck like a truck.
Favorite Features
New and improved gas V8, 5 speed auto, 4 ABS disk brakes, huge comfy interior, tough exterior, front coil springs with solid axles, 4.10 limited slip rear, fully manual 4WD system, integrated trailer brakes, great visibility, tall stance, easy-to-clean vinyl floors & the basic bucket seats are perfect.
Suggested Improvements
Get rid of the V10, and give us a strong gas V8 with better gas mileage (duh). I like the 5.4, but I think the GM 6.0 does it better (though I wouldn't buy a Chevy). Interior is quiet, but drive-train is a little noisy. Add a smooth, dual exhaust for a better sound. Interior materials are cheap.

SuperDuty vs Ram
Vehicle
2005 Ford F-350 Super Duty 4dr Crew Cab Lariat 4WD LB (5.4L 8cyl 6M)
Review
Traded a '03 Ram 2500 4X4, 5.8 hemi for this. Here are my observations so far: The Ram was an excellent truck, just needed something bigger. Best points that Ram has over the Ford are: - Has better storage under front seat, rear seat and front arm rest. - Better cup holders. - Better turn radius. Best points Ford over Ram: - Better ride when loaded. - Power slide back window. - Lights in outside mirrors. -5-speed auto transmission. Trailer Brake Controller! If no other reason to buy a Ford, this is it. If you tow, this is the best!
Favorite Features
-Tow Command w/TBC. -Power back window. -Adjustable power pedals. -4X4 -Diesel. -Marker and turn signal lights in outside mirrors. -Payload and tow weight. -Heated seats. -5-speed auto transmission.
Suggested Improvements
-Needs curb lights and step lights. - GPS - Better entertainment system. - Shorter turn radius. More storage like in the Ram.

F-350 Initial Opinions
Vehicle
2005 Ford F-350 Super Duty 4dr Crew Cab Lariat 4WD SB (5.4L 8cyl 6M)
Review
I just picked up my new F-350 Diesel. Build quality is excellent, everything works as it should and no issues. I am new to diesel having had several Ford gas engines and this diesel is almost as quiet as the V10 I traded. Great truck, I will report back when there are some miles on it.
Favorite Features
Looks, interior, diesel power, new front suspension (huge improvements).

Great vehicle! No problems ever in towing. Mileage is great with new 6.0 liter. Ford beats Chevy over and over again in all ratings. Check HP and torque ratings, top-dog in class.

Review
After wearing out two F-150's I decided to step up. Now I get it. I needed more truck. This machine drives great, gets great gas mileage and is overall meeting my high expectations. I think wearing this truck out will take more than 2 years like my others. You won't get it till you own one.
Favorite Features
The motor is unbelievable. Words aren't enough to describe the overwhelming power and economy.
Suggested Improvements
The only improvement is you should get one. Be sure to get the maintenance plan because oil changes and filters will cost some cash. Get IT~!

2005 Super Duty Evaluation
Vehicle
2005 Ford F-350 Super Duty 4dr Crew Cab Lariat 4WD LB (5.4L 8cyl 6M)
Review
I bought this truck to replace my 1999 F-350. This 2005 is basically the same truck but with the 2005 upgrades. The 2005 has some extremely nice features and some great safety features: The power sliding back window. The heated seats. The backup sensors. The built in trailer braking system in the Tow Command package (it is everything and more than the ads depict; the best trailer brakes I have ever used). The running light/turn signal on the towing mirrors. The heated/sliding towing mirrors. The lighted vanity mirrors. The speed volume control on the radio. The power passenger seat. The shorter turning radius. The 5 speed automatic transmission. A better drive over all.
Favorite Features
See the review. I like all of the improvements.

Cab and bed paint are different colors. Paint expert tells me the paint on the bed is too thin. Have had some engine problems due to faulty injectors and faulty repair. Broke down on interstate due to faulty repair. Dealer did excellent job repairing and priority service.

2005 Ford F-350 Super Duty 4dr Crew Cab XLT 4WD SB (5.4L 8cyl 6M)
Review
Far better than the Dodge 3500 in mileage, comfort and towing. Not only used as business vehicle but as family automobile. The room it has is excellent, and the rear seating holds 3 adults well over 6" in height. The turbo allows for passing in small areas. I will never own another truck that is not a Ford!
Favorite Features
Towing capabilities. Room for 6 full sized adults. Mileage is better than average for a diesel. Cost to run is better than Dodge 3500 Series.
Suggested Improvements
Quieter Diesel.

2005 Ford F-350 Super Duty 4dr Crew Cab Lariat 4WD LB (5.4L 8cyl 6M)
Review
We purchased our truck on the 21st.of Sept.and as of today (18th.of Dec.)we have over 7,500 miles loged on it. We use it to pull a fifth wheel trailer, and our combined weight is around 21,000.This truck is simply outstanding. We have covered parts of 7 states so far and driven all types of roads. In all conditions of driving we couldn't ask for a better riding or performing truck. I only have one small dislike and that is dirt or water down the sides of the vehicle. By widening the front axel as they did it allows more water and mud to be thrown down the sides, there by makeing it harder to keep clean. I have NEVER owned or driven a better performing truck !!!!!
Favorite Features
It would be hard to find a favorite feature on this truck, because as a total package it works as close to perfect as I think they will ever get. This truck will be hard to beat by any other make or model !!
Suggested Improvements
The only thig that needs improving is to stop the excess mud and water from being thrown down the sides. This could be done by installing a small fender flare on each front fender well.
