If it's completely dead you should probably go ahead and get a new battery. I've had good luck with Interstate batteries. The MTP-H7 is the one you want. And yes, if you don't drive the car very much I'd invest in a good battery tender, such as the one BMW sells. Read More...

My wife has her second, in a row, BMW X3 -- a 2008 fully decked, this time, GASP, with an auto trans. I was in same situation in 2005 when I got into a 530i lease. Got the 12K miles knowing I'd be way over in 3 years. What I did is buy miles from BMW during the life of the lease. You can get miles ala cart at $0.16 / mile. I'd do the numbers first. If you know for sure the miles you will drive, it could be cheaper to get them upfront. At lease end, its $0.20 / mile. Infiniti, last time, actually got a $1,500 deposit out of me, a sold order car and I almost left Audi -- they simply came back, from out of no where and a car that had been almost $200 per month more was reduced in price to LESS than the Infiniti. I leased a 2005 545i back in July 2005 for 3 years and got a great deal: 0.001 (2.4% interest) money factor and a great cap. cost with no money down, 36,000 miles allowed.
