Re: 2004 Classic key replacement? [04cad]

Hi- I had the same problem with the keys for Wally's world on my 2003 Malibu classic. They cut a total of 5 of them (got my money back on them of course) but they wouldn't really work. One of them worked sometimes if I really jiggled it. I went to the local hardware store that had a different type of cutting machine and for $3.38 I got 2 keys that work just fine for the car. ... Factory Audio for a 2003 Chevy Malibu

I have a question, Is it possible to update my factory radio head unit with a 2004 or 2005 radio model? Anyone know, I like to upgrade my head unit, but still keep it factory, I'm starting to see more and more units come with a AUX plugs for like MP3 players and such. Would a newer Malibu head unit plug into my 2003 Mali? Thanks in advance. Read More...

Re: 2004 Malibu classic question [04cad]

I had a similar problem with my 2003 Chevy Malibu. The dash lights flashed the oil symbol as if I needed some kind of servicing. A nationally known garage chain gave me a quote of over $1600 for a fix to this problem, stating that there were oil leaks. The curious part to the"fix" was that the manager who gave me the quotes, could not tell me how much oil had to be added ... Read More...

Chevrolet Malibu Engine Problems

Engine RPM

I own a 2004 Chevy Malibu w/ the 3.5L V6. When I am driving the car at about 35 mph and let off the gas to coast, the rpm naturally goes down to about 800 rpm. When i go to accelerate again the rpm revs up to around 1800 and then goes back down to normal rpm for accleration. Is this normal or should I be worried? Thanks, Jake Read More...

Re: got to have it factor joke [choe13]

Based on C/D's criteria, too much body roll for their taste plus slower acceleration in the 1/4 mile plus the subjective factors like "gotta have it", were enough to put the Sonata 4th in the scoring. But as we've been reminded by other posters here, the raw scores don't tell the whole story. As you noted, the comments from C/D's editors were very positive about ... Read More...

Re: Drove a 2008 Malibu and 2008 Accord Today [sidewinderz]

Leasing right now might be OK if the lease programs use as high residuals as have been rumored. A high residual and a good lease interest rate may make it OK to lease now and you don't have to care about resale value. Most people will end their lease before the 3/36 warranty expires, so they don't have to worry about repair costs and extended warranties either. This ... Read More...

,--- By Daniel Pund, Senior Editor, Detroit | In fact, only several thousand megatons of pressure weigh upon | Chevy's latest sedan. | And it has none of the self-conscious oddness of recent designs from | Toyota and Honda. Resale

Re-sale is an overated number both ways. I have two cars on opposite ends of the resale spectrum---a 2007 Camry Hybrid, and a 2004 Chevy Malibu Maxx. Obviously, I paid more for the Camry, and got less of a discount off of MSRP. However, if I were to trade it in tomorrow, I'd make out very well as a percentage of what I paid. I just had the Malibu Maxx assessed at CarMax. ... Read More...

Re: Owner of 2004 Chevy Malibu Classic and in need of help NOW [pink24]

Check all grounding points for loose connections, ect. All of the functions you mentioned are controlled by the BCM (body control module), it might be going bad, mine ('05) acts up once in awhile too. Trunk pops open, radio resets to an AM oldies station, door lock pop up and down. acts like it's friggin Christine! Read More...
