Cadillac DeVille Climate Control

Re: 2004 DeVille Climate Control Issues [wozierski]

On older Cadillacs, a few years older than yours, there are known failures where the blower usually just keeps blowing after the car is shut down. This is usually the blower control/controller unit, which, I think, sits on top of the AC/Heater exchanger unit under the passenger side of the dash. This is the 'box' that controls the auto temp control. Yours is the ... Read More...

Re: 2004 deville check engine light on 49k miles [sweetdeville]

www.cadillacforums.com has areas on it's site that will tell you how to push certain buttons on the dash and put the car into 'diagnistic' mode. This will then display all 'codes', both current and history. This site then also has areas that describe what each of the codes mean. A very limited description, but a description. Cadillacs have a very good self-display ... Read More...

New to Cadillac

Hello everyone, I am new to the Cadillac world having just purchased a 2004 Deville DTS. what a great car. I did a lot or research read all the horror stories about the N* but I am still glad I bought the car. I was scaning thru older post's and noticed everyone's concern about oil consumption. The reason the N* uses oil is because it is desinged that way. The N* is made ... Read More...

Re: Just got my new used 2002 Deville [ladymylady]

Thanks for the congrats lady. But I just got the base Deville. I like the base Deville's a little better than the DHS & DTS. And the reason is a silly one. Its because of the digital dash board. On the DHS & DTS I noticed that the dash board had both, the dial speedometer & RPM gauge, along with the digital speedometer. I didnt like the dial speedometer & RPM gauge, I like ... Read More...

Zim -Affordable Caddys

Zim, I'm in florida so there are quite a lot of Cadillacs down here, and I found the ones with low mileage 19000 to 30000 miles were (02,03,04) were about 19 thou to 24 thou - and that was for base devilles, not the DHS (DHS was very hard to find)- but if you have a trade and can bargain it should bring it down - it depends on the dealership - If you want to take a trip to Florida, ... Cadillac Deville info

I have been shopping around for either a 2002 or a 2003 Deville now foor about a month now. And I have narrowed it down to two of them. But I live in Massachusetts and it seems like every one that I look at with about 50,000 miles is from $16000 to $19000. And every one of them that is under 50,000 is over &20,000. When I look down in the Connecticut and New York area they are ... Read More...

Re: Deville Window Reglators [driver62]

I own a 2004 Deville and have not had the problem you mention. I certainly sympathize with you in your frustration in that in the few minor problems I have had with my 2004 I found it hard to get timely solutions. I suspect that many car companies are like this which is of course not fair or ethical to the customer. If you do buy another brand please post here as I always ... Read More...

Cadillac Deville: Problems & Solutions

Re: 2004 Deville oil consumption [waverunner]

The rings are carboned up. Take the car out and run it floored. Let it hit all the max rpm 's in each gear. You will probably see lots of black smoke coming out the tail pipes. Do this several times. Let it coast down after each run-up, this also helps break the rings loose. I'm not responsible for possible speeding tickets, since this process should take you up to 90mph ... Read More...

2004 Deville oil consumption

We have 2 04 Devilles used for a livery service. One runs perfect but the other has a major oil consumption problem. Cadillac is telling us that this is "Normal" The car uses over 3qt of oil in less than 3k miles. This is all highway travel. The Deville only has 50k miles on it and is under warranty. Has anyone else had problems with Cadillac taking care of this under ... Read More...

FOLLOW UP ON MESSAGE CHECK COOLANT LEVEL

Had the 2004 Deville in for regular oil change today. It turns out that the coolant level was a little low so in fact the computer message was correct when it posted the check coolant level about a month ago. When I stopped at a local service station when the message flashed they had said that the coolant level was okay but it was evidently low when we did the fluid checks ... Read More...
