Hey guys (and gals). I have a 2003 Dodge Neon (Automatic) SXT. Worked GREAT until about 55K miles. Then crap started falling apart. Fast forward 4K miles. At 59K my engine light went on. I purchased a Dodge Neon from a salvage company that had a damaged computer. I replaced the computer with one with the exact part number purchased from a salvage company. The engine started and ran for a few minutes and then completely shut off and would not restart. I recently purchased a 2003 Dodge Neon and the alternator has already went out twice. About 2 weeks ago, I was driving it and it shut off and the brakes locked up, causing it to skid out of control. Don't swear off all dodges just because of the 2000 neon. I actually used to own a 2000 neon ES. After 6 months, the battery died. One of my rims bent a few months later. After that, I had a slew of problems, including the O2 sensor and cam sensors going out on it, the power system dying twice(in one year), the lock on the door messing up (where the door wouldn't close at ... I bought this car specifically for its economy fuel rating 29MPG city/36MPG HWY. I know that there will be some variance, but I am barely getting 19MPG in City/HWY combo driving.
