M5 Price

Hello M5 Owners, This is shameful but I admit that I cannot afford a M5 that is newer than 4 years old. Even when a 4 years old M5, the avg price is still in the $30K - $40k range. However, I see some of the unbelieveably low M5 prices listed in Yahoo autos. Their prices are range from $16K - $30K for 2001 - 2003 models and all the sellers are from in NY. What is your opinion ... Read More...

Re: [habitat1]

Absolutely... we buy the AMG or M-Sport BMW's for the engineering excellence combined with top-end performance. Built as high-speed cars for the wealthier buyers, they combine sheer performance, luxury, solidity and status in a single package. Many classes at this level of investment (911, DB9, SL55, etc) to whet your appetite for speed. My Submariner doesn't ... Read More...

Re: M5 and some insights into the future

Well if it's true, it's cause MB is going to put a V12 into the E55 AMG in 2003 supposedly, so it makes sense for BMW too do the same with the M5. As for the time, I have seen the E55 all over the place from 5.1 to 4.8 sec on 0-60mph and this all from a automatic. One thing I was disappointed in is the lateral g's, I thought BMW would surely be a lot better than the E55 and it's only ... Read More...

M5

Thanks for the info,, I guess I will have to wait until 2003,, I have a problem paying sticker for a car,, even on the 1995 Porsche I got $5K off sticker, for $55K on a $60K sticker in Jan 95. I will keep monitoring the papers, net and Autoweek for any good deals,, I hate to say this,, but I saw a new 2000 Camero SS (320 hp) and it brings out the 70's in me,, it looks good and I ...
