Re: Trying to sell 2001 740i [Mr_Shiftright]
It has sport package, convinience package, cold weather pkg. 63K miles. Got it as a certified BMW in 2003 for $43K Kelley private party is $20,600 I am asking $20,500. $15K sounds more like Kelley trade in value. I also thought it could be time of the year... Read More...

Re: BMW 2.5 V6 [circlew]
Disagree. The 2003+ performance package equipped 330is would easily stand toe to toe with a a 2006 330i/2007 328i. with 0-60 in the sub 6 second range (most reports showed 5.8-5.9 seconds) and far tighter suspension, they were anything but slouches even compared to 2007 ELLPS. Read More...
BMW 2.5 V6
I recently test drove a 2003 325 BMW. I was again, as before when I've driven older/smaller 3 series BMW's, left wondering why they put such gutless engines in them for so long. It seems they didn't correct the situation until 2006, and even then only really with the 330 model. I've never had a very positive impression of BMW until I kept reading the forums here on ... Re: Too many problems with my 740i [eric312]
I am aware of the exteded warranty on the 2002 and 2003; however, I hear that they have lots of problems with those cars. As you might imagine, I have developed a rapport with my service advisor at the dealer and get a lot of information that way. He told me to stay away from those years for the 7 series. Stories I've heard include "driving at night all the lights go out ... Read More...
Re: Too many problems with my 740i [dtb0203]
Now that I have read your list I realized that I only listed problems that happened in the last 4 months for which I had to pay out of pocket. During the certified warranty period I had to fix the following: 1. Computer that controls steering 2. Some fuse (the engine stopped running in the middle of highway and would not start) 3. Oxygen sensor for the service engine ... Read More...
Leasing used 745/750
I have a few questions: 1. Does BMW allow leasing used 745/750s? 2. Is it true that BMW extended original manufacturer's warranty on 2001-2003 (does anyone know exact years) cars due to quality problems? 3. Does BMW extend original manufacturer's warranty for the duration of a second lease? 4. How much can I expect to pay a month for 2003 745i that retails for about ... Read More...
LG
BTW, the G35 is at 47,700 for the year. The CTS is just behind it. BMW 3-series, with it's gang of configurations and engines, usually sells 100k a year, as a group. Lexus should offer both AWD and a manual on the IS350 for 2008. There is no excuse for not doing so. Infiniti and BMW are getting it done. Lexus needs to get that done. I don't wanna hear about clinics and focus ... Read More...
Re: KBB details [hpowders]
What's the percentage they gave? Try to be quantitative. We have both Edmudns and KBB giving 50% for 3yr old 745i (the lowest model, i.e. the one holding up the best among 7 series). That may be "excellent" compared to some other large luxury cars (like the A8), but nowhere close to the 60% residual that BMW offers on leasing the same car or the 63% attained by LS. Is ... Re: Lexus Quality Slipping [brightness04]
Interesting how you used a 2003 7 series as a comparison to the 03 LS ;) We all know the notirety involved with a 03 7 series model with its new revolutionary idrive system and reliability issues. The two biggest US organizations that are in the business of determing retained and future resale values voted BMW overall as number one. Ofcourse if you compare one single ... Read More...
Re: Lexus Quality Slipping [dewey]
There is no golden high auction prices for Lexuses. They are just inline with what Lexus predicts in their lease offers (and the offers from third-party banks). The problem with MB and BMW is that their residuals are way above auction value. You can find out the numbers first-hand by going to dealer auctions. If you do not have that opportunity, a proximation can ... Read More...
