7.3 litre diesel w/6-speed manual. The high pressure oil pumped leaked and needed to be replaced. The clutch master cylinder failed. The pass. window rattled when down. The tailgate lock, locks automatically. After the autopump sensor stops the flow of fuel to the tank, you can slowly pump another 6 gallons in the tank. The front rotors needed to be replaced or turned every 5,000 miles due to warping. This is a chronic and known problem with these vehicles. Worst of all there is EXCESSIVE driveline lash in the rear end/transmission/transfer case. It is VERY noticable between shifts and upon moderate acceleration. I wouldn't buy another Ford pickup.
Favorite Features
Engine. Pulls heavy loads well. Cruise control is great. Can go 600 miles on a tank of fuel (about 30 gallons). 100,000 mile engine warranty. It's HUGE and gets MAJOR respect/fear on the road (no one honks at me when I drive like an ass!) Cavernous interior.
Suggested Improvements
Tighten up the manufacturing tolerances in the driveline! Recall and redesign the front rotors! Interior design is boring.

I am very happy with this truck. Excellent quality control. No rattles. Haven't had it back to the Dealer to fix anything yet. Has 17,000 miles.
Favorite Features
Power with V-10 engine. Truck rides very nice.
Suggested Improvements
Dashboard reflects sunlight onto windshield. Lighter too far away with no light for nighttime use. Ashtrays are useless.

This is the best truck of 4 that I have owned. Great handling, good brakes, and loads of power in my V-10.
Favorite Features
Rides high above the crowd, and handles like a car. Engine noise not a factor and all the features are within easy reach.
Suggested Improvements
Better turning radius and mabey a little more high tech instrument panel.

My F250 has the 7.3 Powerstroke. So many people say that these trucks aren't great for gas mileage, but obviously you aren't buying these for that purpose. However, spending the extra $5,000 for the diesel will pay for it itself. It gets far better mileage than the V10 or Triton, lasts longer, pulls better and will more than pay for itself when it comes down to resale value. Just look at the prices on used trucks with these 3 different motors.
Favorite Features
The large payload and towing ability of this truck is unbelievable. I'm not sure how they figure out towing capacity, but the limit on these trucks, I think, is highly underrated.
Suggested Improvements
Passenger side footroom is minimal because of a lump in the floor besides the transmission to make room for the exhaust. Also, Ford could make an option for a decent radio package for it. The one that comes with it isn't bad, but when you are traveling, a great stereo would be nice.

The 7.3L Powerstroke is an excellent "tried & true" diesel.I put a K&N air kit on & it roars and takes off like a bullet.Rides & drives better than mom's Cadillac. Though it weighs in @ 7,100 lbs., the 20mpg I get on the road is amazing. I have tested all the other makes. The fit & finish of Ford trucks is vastly superior to the cheap look & feel of the Chevy/GMC. The Super Duty overall design is well planned. I like the fact that the Super Duty is THE ONLY 3/4 ton truck designed & built as such with its own special heavy duty frame. Chevy/GMC/Ram simply install higher spring rates in their 1/2 tons and call it a "heavy duty".
Favorite Features
When you see this truck you know it is a 3/4 ton with its unique design. Chevy/GMC/Ram just look like any 'ol 1/2 ton. I am impressed with the safety factor of this truck.I have seen SuperDuties in wrecks @ high speeds & minor harm to folks. I like the ice cold A/C too.
Suggested Improvements
Only two minor things: Pad the center console lid and move the rear stereo speakers to the rear doors like the front.

These trucks are awesome. I tow alot of weight and the truck makes it feel like it isn't even back there. The Powerstroke Diesel is the only way to go!
Favorite Features
Diesel engine, 4 full size doors.
Suggested Improvements
Ford needs to add rear air conditioning on the crew cab trucks. These are big on the inside and in Phoenix Az, it gets hot!

My Ford F250 has been rode hard and put away wet. I have already put 60,000 mile on in the first two years and I've never had a days problem with it. I do a lot of off roading, beach driving, towning and highway driving. I wish all of Fords vechicles were this well built.
Favorite Features
I really enjoy the 4 wheel drive and the V10 power is great.
Suggested Improvements
The sound system is substandard for a vehicle that costs this much.

A new f250 with lots of repairs is unacceptable. Only 22000 miles and have had new rotors, brakes, front springs and soon tires dues too improper front end problems. Must have been a Friday or Monday built truck. Now have a vibration, rattle under the truck to take in next week. I hope Ford Motor Co. reads this because they have not cared so far. I've had the truck in the shop for close too 2 weeks total time. I use this truck for work and buy new every 2 years too prevent down time, which costs me MONEY. Not sure where I'll buy next, but I know this truck is gone at 36000 mi. THis is not the dealers fault. Poorly made truck.
