Chevy Express/GMC Savana: Starting/Stalling Problems

Re: Won't Stay Started [vanowneraz]

I have a 2002 Chevy Express that regularly stalls. I've had the fuel filter replaced. When the stall continued, I took it to the home of a mechanic that the salesman recommended. He put a scanner on it. Did notice that there was a low reading on the Camshaft sensor. He apparently reset it, and as we drove it for several minutes, we could not get it to stall. But the stall ... Dual Fuel (CNG) Experience

Responding to ehoefs posting. We just bought a Dual Fuel (CNG) Chevy Express 3500 Van last week. We too found no Owner's Manual Supplement regarding the Compressed Natural Gas system and how to use it. I've talked to Chevy, to Helm Publications (they say they are out of stock of the $10 item - although I'm still wondering if there even is such a thing) and to three ... Read More...

Dual Fuel (CNG) experience in 3500 Express?

I am looking for a full-size passenger van (12-15 pp). Comparing late model Chevys and Fords. Leaning toward G-3500s instead of Ford. Ran across a 2002 Express w/5.7L that is dual fueled (i.e., gasoline and compressed natural gas or CNG). There is a switch on the dash to go back and forth. A couple of questions about the CNG: 1. Has anyone encountered it? Good or ... Read More...

2002 Express LT rear end trouble

I bought a new Express LT July 27 of 02. 5 days later I noticed a few drips of oil under the differential . I crawled up under and found a small hole in the differential housing that was seeping oil. I completely wiped it clean and put newspaper under it while it was in the garage. About every 2 days I had an oil spot the size of a silver dollar. I made an app't at my dealer and ... Read More...

Axle Boots -- Anyone Else Having a Problem?

Hello Express folks, I'm writing with some concern to see if anyone else has had this problem -- I own a 2000 Express 3500, bought in Oct 2000. I took the 3 year bumper to bumper warranty. In June 2001, at about 6000 miles, the right rear axle boot started leaking. The dealer fixed it under warranty, and had to re-do the brakes too, as they got corrupted by the oil spray. ... The full article can be found at..... www.motortrend.com/news/stories/020306fl.html For 2002 the 4L80E remained unchanged for the heavy duty version. Why would they change it after a major upgrade in 2001 (torque converter), then go back to it in 2003. _______________________________________________ First Look: 2003 Chevy Express and GMC Savana March ...
