Chevrolet Malibu: MPG-Real World Numbers
Re: 2005 Chevy Malibu 2.2 liter genericar MPG [gonogo]
Well, I drive 30k miles per year and it is very expensive to buy a new car every 4 years. I keep my cars for about 8 to 10 years and my personal experience with Japanese cars has been better than with American cars. Based only on my personal experience, the American cars I have had required replacing alternators, water pumps, starters, etc. before reaching 200k miles. ... Read More...
Chevrolet Malibu vs. Toyota Camry vs. Honda Accord
Data.
Ok, data time. (I am not going to comment in this post to ceep it clean) So, let's see. Using an autotrading site (link title) I came up with this. Based on the medium selling price, I came with the following difference in Accord's price less Malibu's price (Can dollars): Year Price of Accord less Price of Malibu (Can dollars) 2006 10002$ 2005 8939$ 2004 9859$ 2002 ... Re: 0-60 and hp [malexbu]
If I'd have based my main need on handling and power I would've bought an Altima. Gotta love the feel of those cars! I'm not really into street racing anymore and didnt buy the Malibu for the 1/4 mile track. Words like "huffs and puffs", "all in the next county before a Malibu driver can even realize what's happening", "may 'feel' quick initially", "antiquated and ... Read More...
Re: I've had both [malexbu]
Malexbu: You seemed to argue that the post-2004 Malibu has had few or no issues. In my opinion, your argument is misleading. Since we're now in 2007, most of the post-2004 Malibu's have not passed the 3-year bumper-to-bumper warranty yet. When there is an issue, the owner usually can get it fixed for free, and so the owner tends to be quiet about it. Besides, one's ... Read More...
Re: I've had both [elroy5]
To elroy, Based on my experience with my 2001 Malibu, I totally agree with you. As I mentioned in my early messages, I bought a brand-new 2001 Malibu in 2001. Had innumerable problems, some of which couldn't be fixed by Chevy dealerships. Got bogged down on the road nemerous times (a very embarrassing and humiliating situation). Spent almost $4000 in repare plus ... Read More...
Re: 2001 Malibu [bateejeff]
,--- You (bateejeff) [ Mar 04, 2007 (12:16 pm) ] | | I tried to defend GM by saying that the 2001 Malibu didn't do well | because it was the early model year and so GM didn't have the chance | to debug everything. I argued that the 2006 Malibu had been | re-designed and so all the bugs in the early models had been worked | out. It sounds as if you think that 2001 is an earlier ... Read More...
