it would be the Versa or a 2009 Fit. The current 2008 Fit isn't in that list because the current model, which was introduced in Asia around 2000 if I recollect correctly, suffers from being a little too small and twitchy on the highway. I own three hyundais. 2 Accents (2002 and 2005) and a new Entourage (2007). Great value cars. The 2002 had engine warranty work done at 85,000 miles and they only charged me $15 on a $2000 bill. MPG may be a bit lower than a Vibe, Yaris or Fit but it would take years to recoup the difference. My five speed gets a solid 32 - 37 mpg depending on city/highway and my daughters ... Read More...

clicking noise heard from rear of vehicle on braking.

I sometimes get a clicking noise coming from the rear of my car during braking, but it doesn't always occur (either that or I can't hear it), and its beginning to get annoying, I thought it might possibly be my rear drums or shoes but I had it checked and it seems fine. I'd be careful! I had a 2000 Elantra wagon that I got rid of after 60,000 miles and 4 transmissions. Yes, 4 of them! It kept blowing sensors which would cause it to shut down on the interstate or wherever I was and the fix for the bad sensor was another transmission. They even replaced the master computer once! And it just doesn't wear well or handle kids or hauling stuff as well as other cars. Not for long-term use. I am going to have to disagree with you on that. To buy the Rabbit to me means buying a car with a worrisome electronic build and reliability record. Unfortunately, I experienced that poor quality first hand when I bought a 2000 VW GTI. IMO it's due to the strong brand equity Honda and Toyota have compared to Hyundai, and HonYota's reputation for long-term reliability. And there is a difference in purchase price between HonYotas and comparable Hyundais. For example, there is a couple thousand dollars difference bewteen the Accent and Fit or Yaris now, including rebates but not including ... Read More...
