Chevrolet Tahoe Engine and Performance Issues
2004 Tahoe "Reduced Engine Power"
I am about to strangle someone at GM if they can't fix the "reduced engine problem" on my 2004 Chevy Tahoe. (The "reduced engine power" notice appears and the truck cuts down to about 2000 RPM's and either goes 5-10 MPH at most or completely dies out and we loose power and brake functions - this happens anywhere from taking it out of park, or going 65 MPH). We had the ... Read More...

My 2004 Tahoe Z71 has so much that I can't put it all on here. Let see, where to begin on how many upgrades I have on my Tahoe? I'll just copy and paste it since there is so much for the Z71 4 wheel Drive Model. Vortec 5300 V8 Engine The Vortec 5300 V8 engine is standard in every Tahoe LT and Z71, as well as Base and LS 4x4, and features: * 295 hp at 5200 rpm * 335 lb.-ft. of torque ... Read More...
2000-2006 Tahoe/Yukons
If you can afford to pay a little more, I might suggest a 2004 Chevy Tahoe Z71. These come with all the luxuries and Off Road Equipment, 4x4, skid plate, heavy-duty trans., etc. For the most part I have been extremely happy with mine. I did have to have the odometer R&R. But that was covered under warranty so I'm not complaining. I like mine because it is good looking ... Read More...

grinding noise when driving '04 tahoe
Re: grinding noise when driving '04 tahoe [andrew1968]
Could be a number of driveline things, but a bigger question--why do you think your 4wd can't be turned off? There wasn't a single '00-06 Tahoe equipped like that, as all 4wd models got 2Hi, 4Hi, 4Lo as choices to run in via push button. So it's a bit odd why you said that. Regardless, it could be a bearing, maybe, though I'm not sure why it might come and go with gas/coasting. ... Read More...
Chevrolet Tahoe Lease Questions
lease finance rate and incentives
I have been in touch with a local chevy dealer in Florida who gave me a quote of $30,037 for a base tahoe - the msrp was $33390 minus their discount and also a $2000 rebate. When I asked about leasing, he told me that the sale price was $32037 because the rebates do not apply to lease vehicles. He also quoted me a lease rate of 8.9% which almost knocked me off my chair. He ... Read More...
