Chevrolet Malibu Electrical/Lighting

Re: Chevy Malbu window and blower problems. [cnotes]

I had the same issue with my 2000 Malibu and got some hints on the fix. It had to do with the ignition switch. Instead of going to the dealer, I took advice from this and other sites. I cleaned the terminals on the ignition switch with sand paper and then with alcohol on Q-tips. I also noticed that the thin black wire on the harness had play in it when it was on the switch, ... Saturn Aura vs. Chevrolet Malibu

Saturn Aura, Chevy Malibu or....?

Husband drives about 1,000 miles/month. We have several thousand dollars credit on GM card; not sure how much, I need to check this next week. Husband will not buy foreign made car. He knows many Toyotas, etc. are manufactured here, but he is firm on this. I think our insurance company is going to declare his 2000 Saturn LS a loss (101K miles, has served us well until ... Re: Chevy Malibu LTZ V6 [thegraduate]

With the current $2000 worth of rebates, you can get a loaded 2008 Saturn Aura XR (practically the same car as the Malibu LTZ) for about $26,000. This includes leather interior, sunroof, 3.6 liter V6, adjustable pedals, and other such features. I actually bought my 07 XR, similarly equipped, for a smidge less than $25,000 with the rebates available at that time. ... Read More...

Chevrolet Malibu Start Up/Ignition

Malibu Wont Start

I need help and I need it fast. lol So yesterday I got my 2000 Chevy Malibu  stuck in the snow. While trying to unstick it my car over heated. Nothing more concerning at the time. Finally got it free and I drove it to work this morning. I put Antifreeze in because the low water light was on. It started wonderful as always. On my lunch break I go outside to go to the bank ... Re: MPG on winter gas [thegraduate]

Urnews only got 21 MPG or so in his Focus, so 15 MPG in his V6 Fusion AWD isn't bad at all. Both are a good 2-4 MPG below the city estimate. It's just because his style/commute is different. You have a good memory, Graduate. We still have the 2000 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder, Zetec Focus station wagon (about 21 mpg all-city driving) and a 1997 3.8-liter, V6 Ford Thunderbird ... Read More...

Chevrolet Malibu Fuel System/Fuel Pump

Re: 2000 malibu fuel pump life? [bbrill]

It should last you at least to 200,000 mile mark. I bet they replaced your because the strainer was clogged. I have a 00' Malibu that had fuel pump problems a year ago. I pulled the tank myself after having the dealer take a look at the car and I found the strainer in the tank was clogged up and wouldn't let any gas thru. Here is my story: http://www.carcomplaints.com/Chevrolet/Malibu/2000/fuel_delivery_system/car_runs- ... Read More...

2008 Chevrolet Malibu

Drove a 2008 Malibu and 2008 Accord Today

I went to a Honda dealer and a Chevy dealer a few hours ago. I test drove an LX-P and liked it and was thinking about coming back in a few weeks to buy it the week between Christmas and New Years. Very roomy and it felt very tight and solid. The LX-P cloth was softer and better looking than the cloth on the EX models. I am likely to buy a car like this unless insurance is more ... 2008 - My salesman was raving about it

I currently have a 2000 Malibu, and am looking to replace it with a new car sometime in the next several months. The salesman that I've bought my last two GM's from, called me Monday night to tell me that they got their first 08 Malibu in. To hear him talk, you would have thought that this was the ultimate perfect car. I've bought two other cars from him, and had come to ... Read More...

Re: 2008 Malibu Production to begin..... [lisa71]

I ordered my 2000 Impala, and somewhere on Edmunds I found a toll-free number for Chevrolet that you could call and check the status of your order. I don't remember a lot of details, but as I recall it was significant when they actually assigned my car a VIN number, and I know I called several times to check the status, and learned when the car was built (March 14) as ... Re: class leader [kdshapiro]

As a car that I would buy, it's last on my list, but I wouldn't hestitate to recommend it (and I have) to people looking for a family sedan. KDShapiro, What's first on your list? What do you drive now? I disagree with your comments regarding Ford but understand that you are entitled to your opinions even though they come mighty close to bashing a manufacturer, in my ...
