Infiniti I30/I35

Re: tcoughlin2-trunk opening [knuckle_buster]

The fix involves installing a relay to bypass the electrical switch that operates the trunk remotely, and there's this: "Prior to beginning repair, ensure that the customer understands that after the repair, they will be unable to open the trunk with the door mounted trunk switch or remote key fob when the transmission selector is in 'Drive'." Incidentally, ... Read More...

Screwed Up Antenna!!

I have a 1999 Infinity i30 Everything in the car works fine except my antenna. Every time I turn the car on and off, an odd clicking, almost grinding noise comes from that area of the car. Oh yeah, the antenna never goes down either. Can someone explain to me whats going wrong. Is it the motor? Or is the antenna just off track? And if anyone can explain to me how to fix this ... oxygen sensor and knock sensor change

I have a 1999 Infiniti i30. Service engine soon light came on and took it to my mechanic. He said that I needed oxygen sensor replaced and my kock sensor replaced. I was also told that my gas mileage will be much better after those changes. Now, it's been about 2 weeks and my gas mileage has been worse than before. I know there is no adjustment to make on Fuel Injection ... Read More...

Re: 20001 I30 Brake Pad Replacement [al57]

I just replaced rear break pads for a 1999 Infiniti I30. Pep Boys had what I needed in stock. I'm not sure if the part # is the same for a 2001 I30 but the # was PR540-C ceramic pads. Go to Pep boys.com for a complete listing of parts. Read More...

Help with 99 I30 Transmission - Decelleration

I have owned my 1999 Infiniti I30 for three years now and it has been an exceptional car! But it has always had a minor eccentricity that I would love to fix. Any suggestions? -- This seems to happen mostly at lower speeds - let's say between 25 and 50mph. When I am cruising along at a steady speed and let off on the gas, there is an abrupt deceleration similar to what you ... Read More...

Extended Warranties answer to Msg 1686

In answer to post 1686 I am purchasing a 1999 I30-L with 60k. I deal with only one company when it comes to extended warranties. www.WarrantyExperts.com It is very important if at all possible to ask for an exclusionary policy. The difference is that an exclusionary policy lists a short list of what is not covered. This is much easier to read and understand and allows ... Read More...

amda 1998 I30

See if you can find 2000 I30 program cars coming off lease. I understand Infiniti of Lisle (Chicago) are paying $18,250 which means you could probably buy one for around $19-$20K depending how good you negotiate. Don't know where you are located, but would guess Infiniti dealers in your area may have similar deals. Big difference in 2000/2001 I30's as opposed ... Read More...

To TEEBABY (re: New I30t Owner)

I bought my first Infiniti, an 1999 I30t in July. It had only 15000 miles on it. My FAVORITE thing about this particular I30t is that it's a 5speed transmission - one of the very few (and last) produced for the I30. I paid $22,800. for it. It's the best car I've ever owned. I love it. Read More...

mileage, fuel, price paid and etc.

I have a 99 I30 now with 69k miles. I have always (except while testing higher octanes) used 87 octane gas (I'm cheap). Mileage generally runs 24-25 and on a recent trip to SC (from VA) averaging 69 mph I got 28.2 average. During my test of the higher octane, I noticed I had more power, which I used and slightly LOWER mileage. Also, never had any problems with car except ... Read More...
