Help! I30 speaker grill dilema

I just purchased a 1998 I30 with 75,000 miles. For some reason, the small tweeter speaker grills were missing from both sides in the front doors. At first, Infiniti said they could order the speaker grills. Now, they say I have to buy the entire door panel - at $400 each! Ouch! I have seen Maxima's with the same speakers. Just spoke with the local dealer, Fields Infinity in Chicago Suburbs. For my I30 1998 he offers the following extended warranties: 3 yr/ 45K miles from the date of warranty purchase at $1755. Congrats on getting the low mileage '98 I30t for $17650. Based on personal experience with the following 6 Nissans/Infinitis since 1991, I would recommend you not spend the $1000-$1100 for an extended warranty. thanks bdruland for your adv. I did check out the 2000 and 2001's coming off lease. I am in the east coast- central VA. Not many dealers around. THe price for the 2000 and 2001 is in the range of 22- 24 k with around 21k miles (average) on them. WHich is out of my present budget. See if you can find 2000 I30 program cars coming off lease. I understand Infiniti of Lisle (Chicago) are paying $18,250 which means you could probably buy one for around $19-$20K depending how good you negotiate. Hello everybody. I have decided to buy a 1998 I30. I saw this car at a local infinity dealer and I really liked it. It is a black I30 STD w/leather interior, moonroof, bose system/cd player. Take the $16K. I only got $16,200 last month when we traded our 98L w/ 32k miles on it. Also, remember that the trade in value is usually subtracted from the selling price when it comes to figuring out the tax. Here in Conn. the sales tax is 6%, so my trade was worth another $972 in tax money to me. The highest trade in value I was offered was 16.4k by an Acura dealer. The ... Read More...

I30 or TL

I would recommend I30. The 96-99 TL have very bland and unexciting styling to me. The I30 has a nice look to it with the front grille, the profile will be the same as a Maxima and the rear I think looks better with a spoiler.
