im getting a wierd noise when my 5spd 1997 honda civic is in neutral. when i shift into 1st or any gear it goes away. also when i press the gas about half way i get a squeeling. but when pressed alittle or alot its not present. please gime ahand , im stumped . THX bunches :cry: Read More...

hey i just got a 1997 honda civic 164,000mi manuel 5 spd , the guy i got it from put a custom air intake in it and an exhaust. it sounds ok, but when after i got it when i first drive it on a normal warm day depending on how far i press the gas pedal its when it squeels. i can control it by either pushing the gas pedal farther or more less, just kind of ackward. thought it may be ... This car will not start, when turning the key it just clicks. Checked battery it is charged. Headlights, horn, hazards and etc. will not work or seem to be mixed up. The cd player seems to have a mind of it's own. Read More...

I had a similar problem with my '99 Civic. Turned out the positive battery cables were corroded under the battery terminal. The battery was new and the terminal was fine, but I disconnected it from the cable and the cable was green and white and some of the wires fell off. I just cut off 1/2 inch from each one and replaced with new terminals (did the ground also) and ... Read More...

I agree with that. Overall - very nice car. Mine is 2007 LX, love it. It exceedes my expectation by far. I have had in the past Fort, GM, Chrysler, 1992 Honda Civic, 1997 Nissan Altima (still have it), but this one 2007 LX is the best. The Accord headrest worked for me. Go to your Honda dealer and ask to try one out before you buy. I've been a Honda owner since 1980 and never had an issue until the headrest in my 2007 Honda Civic. Not sure if this goes here or not but I just have to say I love Honda. I have had my civic since new and it now has 102000 miles on it. The other day my wife was driving home and it was having problems going over 60 mph so I said just take it to the dealer and I will meet you there. How much should it cost to get a keyless entry system put on my 1997 honda civic LX? I forget way too often to manually lock the driver's side door (the power lock won't work so that i don't lock my keys in the car).
