Hey my names Greg proud owner of a 1997 plymouth neon 5 speed what you need to do is go to wal*mart and buy an a/c recharger it comes in a can leave the car off while you do this regaurdless if it tells you to keep it running or not make sure you have someone with you while you do this when it says its charged stay under the hood and have someone turn the car on and turn the a/c ... hey there i have been haveing the same promblem with my 2000 neon and i also have a system in my car but when i took it to the shop they told me that i needed to have a part of my computer system in the engine replaced so i would have that looked at Read More...

Matt420: Hey, welcome to the forum! I have a1996 Dodge Neon Highline. We bought it new. These are fun cars and have a good amount of pep for a 2, L engine. I can only tell you what I do and have done with ours. I take ours to the Dodge dealer, which I thank the Lord is top notch. For me replacing parts one by one to find a problem is pretty expensive. Hi, I'd appreciate any help at all. I have a 1997 Dodge Neon and first off my battery would drain when I go to sleep overnight, but sometimes itd last for days. I have a 1997 Neon. When I got it the fans would not work either. There is a small Mopar relay mounted (oddly) underneath the battery tray. For some reason, this fails reliably. It costs around $80 from Dodge, but I found it on Ebay for $32. Search on Ebay for "dodge fan relay" and it is the only thing that comes up. The relay is used on many Dodge models. I have a Haynes book and I am only aware of relays on the fuse box (power distribution center) and my 1997 Dodge Neon does not have the radiator fan relay there. Read More...

My wife drives a 1997 Dodge Neon.There seems to obviously be an Electrical short somewhere in the system.
