Review

My little car that could. I have had it for almost 8 years from new, drove GREAT! for the first 5 years, had two major repairs after that (when it rains it pours) engine head, and computer went out, but no small problems at all! couldn't bring myself to trade in because no other car could match it for veratility, or gas mileage. I got 33MPG on mixed driving. I will miss you!

Favorite Features

great internal space for apartment hopping when backseat is down, great gas mileage, responsive steering.

Suggested Improvements

really sucky suspension after first year, paint on mirrors and trim suck, needs alittle more HP, and wider tires. Also could be a little larger. just a tad.

Review

Have made many trips in the 250 oneway range over the years and never had a problem. Made several 3500 mile oneway trips..had no problems, was comfortable and loved the mileage. Has been virtually NO MECHANICAL problems since buying it new.

Favorite Features

Suggested Improvements

exterior door handles became brittle after several years and snapped off. Repair was EXPENSIVE. Paint on exterior mirrors, front and rear bumpers faded quickly.

Review

This car is excellent for short distant commute. I put 43k on milage on this car since 1996 and still in shiny, new, excellent conditition. Longest drive - Las Vegas, longest single drive without turning off engine - 7 hours. Fuel consumption is excellent - about 37 - 40 on highway (on economy gear option).

Favorite Features

1996 model appearance is much better than the new ones - which I consider SO UGLY! I wonder why Hyundai changed it.

Suggested Improvements

Change the new model back to 1996/97 model or remodel appearances with roomy seats. Have bigger powerful engine with economy fuel consumption. Change most plastic holder inside engine to metal - plastic holders such as spark plug cables/wires are fragile. Introduce wider rims/tyres.

The ability to shift off and on overdrive to consume gas around town.

Exterior design is not an eye candy feature.

Review

As soon as warrenty ran out, car broke down. 105+ miles on my car, blue book value $800, repairs $1400, and still have 3 payments to go. Disappointed to say the least. 2 mechanics said it's not worth investing the money into for repairs. I did enjoy driving it while it was running, but $9981 is too much of an investment to throw it away after 5 years.

Favorite Features

Pick up and go is great. Excellent gas mileage - averaged 40 mpg. Liked driving while it ran.

Suggested Improvements

Make a car that will last. My dad's truck was built in 1974, paid $4000, has over 200K miles and still drives it. Does anyone make vehicles like that anymore?

Review

Love my Hyundai. Bought this car from the dealer with 7K miles on it and haven't had any major problems. drivers side window mechanisim broke 33 bucks to fix, less than an oil change. Also broke a bolt in the front pass suspension $8 dollar fix. Though its light in the horsepower still a fun little car to drive.

Favorite Features

great styling for an econocar. Great paint it still looks new.

Suggested Improvements

More power. Change the ugly seat fabric. Upgraded floor covering would be a good idea.
