Nice pickup. Runs perfect. Only had minor issues except for the last one which no mechanic has yet to diagnose. Fuel efficient 6cyl engine. Very strong motor when hauling or towing.

This Old Truck
Vehicle
1995 Ford F-150 2 Dr XLT 4WD Extended Cab SB
Review
I paid $4500 last winter. I've only paid for oil changes. And I cleaned it in and out well because it smelled like a used car. Now it's nice, clean, easy to drive. I'd never buy a Ford car, but this old truck has been good and a good price. It's very under powered. I drive it easy and get 18 MPG with it's 5L V8. Snow, sand, and mud are like driving on pavement when in 4X4.
Favorite Features
Cheap price.

One of Ford's Better Years for Trucks
Vehicle
1995 Ford F-150 2 Dr XLT Extended Cab LB
Review
This has been an excellent vehicle. The only major repair I have made on this truck was a rebuilt transmission at 160,000 miles. Other than that I have replaced an alternator, a radial arm bushing, idler pulley and a few batteries. I drive this truck to work, M-F, around Atlanta. With 287,000 miles on it now, I could see this truck easily making 400,000 miles in a few years. AT 80 mph, the 5.8l still gets 15mpg. I like this truck so much I am starting the process of restoring it.

I bought this truck in '98 with 69k miles on it. The only major repair I had done was new gears in the rear end. Everything else is original. Oh yeah, I had to replace the battery a couple times. I wish Ford would go back to this truck.195k miles and still truckin'.

I love my Ford F-150 Eddie Bower
Vehicle
1995 Ford F-150 2 Dr Eddie Bauer Standard Cab SB
Review
The Ford F-150 Eddie Bower is awesome to drive. I had the lighting package added by the dealer. I love my truck and I will never sell it. I brought it brand new in twelve years and have done all maintenance regular service at every 3,800 miles. Replaced 3 serpentine belts, the front brake pads twice, two sets of tires, 3 batteries, 3 sets of wiper blades, 3 sets of spark plugs and wires and one universal joint (Ford mistake). They uprgraded it. One factory recall - cruise control was bad. Fixed last year for free by Ford.
Favorite Features
I love 5.0 302 engine, plenty of torque and power. The style is awesome. The power is awesome.
Suggested Improvements
Push automatic 4x4; bad upgrade after second failure - upgrade to a Warn system in 2000 works great. Upgrade to the K and N system and a Paxton A supercharger and better universal joint. Night vision like on the Cadillac and refrigerated glove box. More powerful exhaust.

I found out that eBay was the best source for finding this year model used truck. Consumer Reports reliability survey results indicated that Ford was ahead of Chevy and Dodge for 1/2 ton, full-size truck models from the mid-90s. Except for 3/4 ton plus trucks, crew cabs weren't the rage in the mid-90s but at least the extended cabs on full-size trucks can hold three kids (or three adults in a pinch).
Favorite Features
The brawny styling (unlike the 97+ Taurus-trucks!) and the 351ci V8. Plus, my aftermarket 6" ProComp lift kit, Flowmaster Series 40 muffler, 456 gears, and 35x14.50 tires on 15" wheels. The short wheelbase and lift kit allows improved approach/departure angles when four wheeling.
Suggested Improvements
Automatic transmission doesn't shift that smoothly. Front tow hooks are almost impossible to find but I found some.
still going......

Review
This is the best truck I have ever owned. I have 175,000 miles on it and it has the original transmission (w/ a shift kit), original engine (5.8L), and almost all original parts. This truck will still outrun my 97 Vortec 350 Z71 Chevrolet with ease. The only parts that I have replaced on this truck are the starter and the alternator. It still gets me to work and through anything I need to get through when I'm hunting. This truck should be the role model for all other trucks.
Favorite Features
Insane 5.8 that barked 2nd gear before the shift kit was installed. Goes through anything. Love the way it looks. Power lumbar. All around tough.
Suggested Improvements
Tailgate latch. Gas mileage is terrible, but it's also on 35's with 4.10 gears. Power window and door lock switches fail about every 10,000 miles.

I'm the 3rd owner w/ 130,000 miles on a 5.0 V8 and still going strong. Very dependable. Always starts, even in sub-zero Alaskan weather.
Favorite Features
High quality construction. Growing old gracefully, not falling apart like some of the other guys are.
Suggested Improvements
Would prefer better gas mileage, only getting 12 mpg.
1995 F150 XL long bed
Vehicle
1995 Ford F-150 2 Dr XL Standard Cab LB
Review
This is an excellent truck. This is my third summer using this truck for projects and it can haul just about anything. Gravel, rocks, bricks etc... I have hauled well over 1.5 tons of sand in this supposed 1/2 ton truck and other than sitting a little lower than usual, drives and accelerates just fine. 4.9 inline 6 cylinder isn't going to win any races, but is perfect for towing and hauling. The 4.9 motor tows a 5500lb trailer better than my friends F150 with the V8.
Favorite Features
Simplicity of features, Not much to go wrong. Great work truck with ice cold A/C.
Suggested Improvements
Only wish I had found one with extended cab for my growing family. :)

I am the third owner. Only had 55,000 miles when I bought it. It was babied by the two previous owners. Love this truck. Drives well and is fun to drive. I haul a popup with it and just throw the stuff we need in the bed and off we go. Moved furniture and hauled mulch with it.
