HI 1995 302, CHECK THE TIMING. the harmonic balancer is the sheeve for making everything turn. It has a rubber insert, this insert will slip and change timing. Late timing, more gas, more heat, less power. More heat is the first noted problem. Cats for 95 302 non ford about 300 total (HOUSTON). Replace head gaskets 302 MUSTANG, $3000. Hi If I remember right Ford related to it in their maintenance section for much older models. (If necessary, rough or eratic or loss of power). Being a driver of an F150 302 1995 with 370k miles: 1) get your gas from other than a convience store, (a national gas station). 2) see if there is infomation on gas providers web sites, or and, on the makers of the injector cleaners.Go ... hi long story. short version . Had problems with 1995 F150 302. At about 1year ago problems , ended up replacing ox and both air sensors. also replaced valve cover gasket ($1500). Did OK (did not act like full power) for about 10 mo. IN less than 1 week NO POWER, "3 miles to get to 50mph + 30% more gas". I'm looking at a 1995 Ford F250 Styleside XL H/D SuperCab 4x4, with the 460v8. It has 114,000 miles and they're asking $5,800. Is this a good deal? It looks to be right a blue-book, but what kind of problems can I expect to find on this truck with this many miles? Any other user experiences with a similar truck? Thanks! Read More...

I have a 1995 Ford F150 Supercab XLT Lariat 4x4. It has 125,000 miles and is in perfect shape, no rust and runs like new. I've owned it since new. It is like factory fresh, except... I recently replaced the water pump, thermostat, hoses, serpenntine belt and idler, fan clutch and radiator, as well as the temp sender and gauge (earlier). The truck started overheating ... Can anyone tell me if Ford had both a straight 6 cyl. and V6 in the earlier F-150's? I hear others talk about the straight 6 and I'm looking at an '87 F-150 that says it has a V6. Which engine is better and why? Also, can any of you experienced Ford owners tell me how many miles is too many when looking at an old truck with any of the Ford engines (6 or 8 cyl.)? i have a 95 ford f-150 2wd. starter cranks but engine wont fire. i can hear the fuel pumps when the key turns and all accessories work. checked for spark from the coil wire and there was none. ford told me i needed to replace the ignition module--- i replaced it--same thing.. found out the new one failed 2/3 times. i replaced it again 5 days ago--worked great until today. ... I recently bought a new 06 Silverado Z71 crew cab. I had a hefty GM card rebate, which influenced my decision to buy a Chevy. However, I was strongly considering an F150 4X4 crew cab, because several of my coworkers have older models and are very happy with them. Defective alternator. Or perhaps I should say "defective voltage regulator." I believe it is built into the alternator on that model. After becoming hot the regulator is breaking down...... Been there, done that, and got the T-shirt to prove it!!!!! Read More...
