Hello out there! I have a 1995 ford explorer and it seems to be having starting issues. If it sits overnite it will start just fine, but if I use it throughout the day at times it will take numerous tries to start. ok so i have a 95 ford explorer and I have put about $3,000 worth of work into it, My new problem i am having with my truck is this. When I reach about 30-35 mph it jumps up and down on the rpm's (reving) then again at 50 mph it does the same. what might the problem be, I am hoping to god its not the tranny seen as how I just changed the transmission not over 7 months ago, if by chance ... I bought a 95 Explorer in March of last year.It has Keyless enter, I was told by Edwards Ford in Kingston Ont, You can only get the code though the dealership that sold it when it was new. I think you would have to go see Ministry Of Transportion for a history search on your Explorer. I,m not sure of the cost for the search, I heard it was around $35. to $45.00 . That why I ... For a 1997 Ford Explorer, a 1995 may be similar: It is a pain to do this. Lots of screws amd lots of plastic to carefully and patiently bend and remove. 1. Remove the lower plastic panel under the steering wheel, it has 2 screws from underneath on each side, and 2 screws to remove on the hood release. I think this is one of the better topics we've discovered -- do teenager drivers prefer SUV's or minivans. However, I don't think we are getting a fair sampling here. Of course from mother's point of view the safety is huge. Not sure which are safer SUV's or minivans though. None of my boys think about practicality though. Hey my 1995 is junk also your not the only one. I have spent some serious cash on the thing also. I spent 1200 to get the thing rebuit had a 6mos garuntee then 3 mos after that was up it went out again, they fixed it for 500 but gave no garuntee and now about 2 or 3 mos later it is junk again. I posted another message after the one you replied to stating that I was able to get $1,000 from Ford to assist with funding the new transmission as a good will gesture, even though the warranty had expired. That says to me 1) They know the trans was bad in those models and 2) They value the Ford brand and will stand behind their product. I don't know the answer to your ... Read More...
