1993 Dodge Daytona 2 Dr ES Hatchback

Review

This was my second vehicle, I was 18 and wanted a sports car and thought this would fit nicely. Very comfortable seating, decent power and gas mileage, nothing to rave about. Personally loved the looks of the 93 Daytona, beautiful vehicle. Replaced the starter and the fuel pump in three years ownership at about 120k miles. A little too much body roll IMO for a sports car. Liked the Mitsubishi 3.0 v6, had alright low end, grabbed nicely in mid range, but I believe the governor started in at 90 MPH and cut you off at 110. Typical for dodge cars.

Favorite Features

Great body styling, comfy interior, dials and controls easily in reach. Nice power. Good a acoustics for aftermarket stereo, never heard better in any other car with same system.

Suggested Improvements

Seats though comfy had kinda cheap fabric which had ripped seams and exposed stuffing in both seats. Rear bucket seats had good leg room but zero head room leading to cricked necks.

1993 Dodge Daytona 2 Dr IROC Hatchback

Review

I have a '92 Daytona IROC. This is a sweet car. The V-6 3.0 Litre engine provides more than enough power and even offers decent mileage (average - 24 MPG.) While it may not be the best and the fastest on the market, it does hold its own against many other sports cars. The Daytona IROCs are relatively rare but well worth the money.

Favorite Features

V-6 engine. Compact design. Suspension - tight cornering provides loads of fun.

Suggested Improvements

Chrysler/Mitsubishi engine - should have done something about the overhead gaskets that are known to blow. (Same engine that is in the Dodge Caravan) Better design of trunk/hatchback space.

1993 Dodge Daytona 2 Dr STD Hatchback

Review

I have had 3 trannys radiator starter and selinoid wheels tires and many other things on this car replaced and yet every other week something else breaks on me. Or starts up a hole new can of worms. If I had the money I would seel both of my Daytonas in a heart beat.

Favorite Features

The seats are more comfortable than my ex wifes 2000 honda civic ex model that was fully loaded. I could sleep in my car and not ever hate it the seats kick ass. I like the dash board also and plent of room in the hatch.

Suggested Improvements

Everything except for the interior, besides the poorly placed ash trays everything inside is great but the Body lacks the looks that i like.

Review

The 1993 Dayona is a somewhat conflicting assembly. Originally designed in the early 80's, the parts of the car not updated over the years (body structure, engine mounting, and rear hatch area) are quite crude. However, much of the car was updated by 1993 to provide a very nice interior, decent drivetrain (V6) and good utility. I once hauled a 50 gallon water heater home in it and it will swallow my entire mountain bike. Want cheap and stylish wheels? Find a low milage, well maintained V6 Daytona!

Favorite Features

V6 engine, lots of cargo room, folding seats, comfy, attractive interior, A/C MUCH improved over my old '84 Daytona.

Suggested Improvements

Beware the A604 4 speed auto trans. This car is out of production, so if you want more improvements, go buy a Supra.

Review

The Iroc edition is rare and well worth the hunt. It is fun to drive and looks sharp at a cheap price. Being the last year that Dodge made these speedsters the Iroc and Iroc R/T should be considered collectibles!

Favorite Features

Come standard with alot of options including moonroof and the engines of the 3.0 Iroc are made by mitsubishi

Suggested Improvements

Only problem is money is needed to help when apart needs to be replaced like any other car
