Honda Civic Care and Maintenance

Re: Write A letter To Corporate [sandman46]

Its totally unacceptable for an engine to die at 48K. If Honda doesn't give at least 50% back to you, I'd never shop Honda again. Show them a picture of your nice new Ford or Toyota and be sure to let everyone know what your Honda did for you. As for me, I have a 117K on my 2001 Civic LX and my only problem thus far has been my suspension- about $850 worth of it around 100 K miles. ... Read More...

Honda Civic 2006-2007 Issues

Re: Overall Great Car [sandman46]

I agree with that. Overall - very nice car. Mine is 2007 LX, love it. It exceedes my expectation by far. I have had in the past Fort, GM, Chrysler, 1992 Honda Civic, 1997 Nissan Altima (still have it), but this one 2007 LX is the best. No complaints so far, except yesterday when opened the passenger's front door, I noticed on the inner side - a little rusty spot at the ... Read More...

Mazdaspeed3 vs. VW V GTI vs. Civic Si

Re: should i buy this car [fasterthanyou]

"1 Hondas have higher insurance rates than VW. I own a GTI and the insurance rate is not higher than for a regular Accord. That's probably because you have a lot more safety features in the VW." You really shouldn't make such blanket statements. I just got quotes on the VW GTI 4 door, Mazdaspeed3, Civic SI sedan and Acura TSX. My insurer ( a mainstream company) put ... Read More...

Honda Civic vs. Hyundai Elantra

Honda Failures

When I bought a 1992 Accord LX in `1994 I bought an extended warranty also. I thought I would never need it since Honda made such great automobiles. RIGHT?? WWRRONG!!! The trannys overdrive went out, the right rear window actuator, the stereo speakers, and the power steering all had to be rebuild and or replaced before the 100K mile warr. expired. The power steering ... Read More...

Honda Civic 2006-2007 Issues

Mine too has issues

My car went from near perfect to flawed. My dealer and Honda have been nothing short of wonderful to work with. All the parts are in to replace the power steering pump, drivers door window switch, drivers side rear spring and trunk liner side panels. I have some tire wear on the rear tires. Honda is going to replace the rear tires and do a aligment on the car. I figure ... Read More...

Honda Civic Sedan 2006

Re: Is anyone happy with there new Honda Civic Sedan EX [slowpedaler]

I have an 06 EX and I am very pleased with it. The combination of features that the car has is incredible. I have been a fan of Honda since 1992. My 06' is the 4th. I have driven other vehicles out there and what Honda owners consider bugs other mf would consider excellent. I have a friend with an 02 Silverado that needed an new engine last christmas. The vehicle only had ... Read More...

Any downside to buying a hybrid?

No Hybrid

I still don't think I'd buy a hybrid. The cost is just too high for the amount of gas you might save if you get the EPA mileage they are rated at. The Prius is probably the only hybrid I'd consider and only if I can get past the Toyota dealer gouging. I will not pay 25-26K for a car with an MSRP of less than 22K. The only other hybrids I know of...the Civic Hybrid and the Accord ... Read More...
