Re: 1990 Ford Ranger Fuel pump / electrical problem [laynrbr]
The relays are usually beside or inside the fuse box under the hood. There may be 2 or 3 of these, many times they are identical. Fuel pump, power windows, etc. I would first pull all of them and clean the contacts. Then if still dead, start switching them around. If the fuel pump starts, you still don't know which one is bad, but you do know one is bad and you need to buy ... Read More...
1990 Ford Ranger Fuel pump / electrical problem
Hey everyone! I've just brought my ranger out of a five year retirement for the sake of fuel mileage. It ran when I parked it but now I have no power to the fuel pump in the tank. My Chiltons manual shows a fuel pump relay but I can't seem to trace it down. Is the relay in the pump itself? All fuses are good and I can't find any bad wires. Does anyone have an idea on where to look ... Read More...
Re: 1990 Ford Ranger Brakes [bolivar]
haha Entertaining response. I realize my methods of maintenance on this truck are rather unorthodox, I do however, have extensive knowledge of how to do everything auto-related, I don't think, however, that this vehicle is one to actually put any effort towards. Besides, why should I put effort into maintaining a vehicle which someone didn't even bother to ... Read More...

Actually, rather than you 'unfortunately owning' a Ranger, it appears an unfortunate Ranger is owned by you, a person with a sledge hammer. Read More...
1990 Ford Ranger Brakes
I unfortunately own a 1990 ford ranger 2wd truck. While replacing the rear drums, neither would slide easily over the shoes, thus a sledge hammer was brought in. Now the entire rear axle is in a state of almost seizure, I'm assuming the shoes haven't retracted and are binding against the drums, or the drums are not seated squarely, despite dozens of heavy hits with ... Looking at a 1990 Ranger
I'm planning on looking at a 1990 Ford Ranger 2wd 5spd std. Regular Cab pickup. I was wondering if this truck would have a 2.0 or a 2.3 4cyl engine. Are there any major points to be checking besides the obvious on these trucks? Thanks in Advance -Ryan Read More...
