2010 Toyota Yaris Hatchback 2dr Hatchback (1.5L 4cyl 4A)

Review

I feel like I'm driving a much larger car than it is. It feels solid and smooth. It handles more like a sedan than a hatchback. I don't feel like I'm driving a tiny plastic toy like the Honda Fit that my wife drives. It has good acceleration for passing on the highway, but not as sporty as a Honda Fit. Stability is excellent on slick pavement. There is very little engine noise while cruising on the highway. The acceleration is smooth and quiet without any jerky gearing.

Best Features

The transmission is really smooth. There is absolutely no jerky behavior when changing gears. The driver has a lot of leg room. The controls are easy to understand without a manual. I like the unique exterior look. The stabilization system is a plus in winter weather. I feel safe in this car.

Worst Features

The back seats should fold up as well as down, like in the Nissan Versa or Honda Fit. The cruise control could be a bit more responsive when adjusting speed.

2010 Toyota Yaris Hatchback 4dr Hatchback (1.5L 4cyl 4A)

Review

Fun car to drive. Three fill ups to date: 36.7, 37.7 and 38.7 MPG. Lots of room. Pretty smooth ride. Got a GR8 deal and 5 Year 0% financing. What's not to like! An absolute winner! Wife thinks it's "really cute."

Best Features

Seats are pretty comfortable and provide ample room. Also like the center console controls.

Worst Features

Only one "would like to have." A telescoping steering column would give the driver more choice in driving positions.

Review

We purchased this car to park the silverado in hopes to achieve 37 mpg from everyone else's reviews. keeping the car at 70 mph or less we maintain 35-36 which is very impressive. took a highway trip and set it on cruise which was added, at 65 mph and at 280 miles we did get 46 mpg. i have no complaints for the compromise of mileage. if I did not have cruise control added i would not enjoy highway trips. overall if driven with a light foot and 70 or less mph good result await you. enjoy

Best Features

front cup holders on dash, center gauges, available parts to stiffen ride TRD accessories, and the fact there is no timing belt to change out, Toyota uses chain drive.

Worst Features

possible a better comfier seat design, not bad for daily trips. recommend cruise control for long trips make it very bearable.

2010 Toyota Yaris Hatchback 2dr Hatchback (1.5L 4cyl 5M)

Review

I had the car for 6 month and 8K miles. The gas mileage is about 3 mpg worse than my old Tercel. Best was 42 mpg on the highway, worst was 34 mpg in heavy city traffic. I average 37-38 on my commute which is mostly city driving. The car is comfortable and easy to handle, tight turning radius, lots of space once you fold down the rear seats. So far I had zero problems with the car. Easy to work on for do-it-yourselfers.

Best Features

Good but not great gas mileage, handling, comfortable seats, good visibility, reliable.

Worst Features

Sub par stereo, long shifts on manual. Should get better gas mileage than a 1996 Tercel, which it doesn't. How about a turbo diesel version?

Review

My 2008 Yaris recently totaled in accident. Did what it was supposed to, protect my wife and me while taking the damage. Four days later I had a 2010 identical Yaris with even better safety features. I cannot tell you how peppy, compact, fun to drive and SAFE this small car can be. Gas mileage is great, interior and exterior features and looks are sleek and very 'Euro' style, and the cargo room is outstanding for what basically looks like a cute Tinkertoy. Small wife (4'11")loves the view driving it. Great choice for many reasons.

Best Features

All of them.

Worst Features

Remote trunk release in 2-door hatchback! Smokers package for those that want it! Take cup-holders away from in front of the side-window defogger vents and put them in those two little waste spaces on the center climate control console! Otherwise, perfect!
