I was disappointed that Toyota did not make some easy changes to improve this car.
I know it just came out less then 2 years ago, but the number of people who have complained about the tire size/cost/fast wear is very high.
Neither walmart nor costco even carry a tire this size, and the local shops want $1,250 to replace all 4 tires - all of which wear out very quickly.
Have the V6 motor which has a load ticking noise. Was told by service department not to worry because all their new Venza's sound like that. Trouble is the noise is getting a little loader. Anyone know if this is normal? I had a 2006 with 100,00 miles on it and I couldn't hear that motor because it was so quite.
Well remember most people look at style when buying a car and do not look at the cost of tires. The market anaylists for Toyota know this if they were to go to a smaller less expensive tire they would probably loose more sales due to style than they would gain from those who look at tire cost.
Also you should usually look at tires from discount tire or tire rack their costs are not much more than Walmart and they can get any tire though it may need to be ordered. And look at tread wear and speed rating these effect how long tires last. I had a nissan it came with Bridgestones with a 180 treadwear rating, lasted 10k miles replaced with goodyears that had a 440 treadwear rating lasted 35k miles yes they were not cheap (it was a sports car) but 10% more for a tire that lasts about 300% longer sounded like a deal to me . Look at Yokohama Parada Spec-X 420 treadwear rating are 194 each set of 4 with tax in Texas is $915 installed at Discount Tire, Good year has a cheaper tire ar $125 each but it has lower tread rating and a more aggresive tread that will lead to more road noise. The good years can be had for under $600 installed but they would be inferior to the Yokohamas .
