Why MSP with no wiggle room?

I just left the Toyota dealership in Westport, CT and was very interested in a 2009 AWD 6 cylinder Venza with leather seats and a rear camera. The dealer stuck to the sticker price like he was attached to it with crazy glue! I'm not a ditzy blonde, so I know there must be a way to get the dealership to give me a better price. Just took delivery of the 2009 Venza 6 cylinder in Golden Umber. Looks like the 2001 Roman Bronze which Jaguar made for one year only. Great color. I mounted my Garmin Nuvi on the dash instead of paying $2750 for a GPS package, etc. One important option which is NOT available from Toyota is 2 memory seats. I miss that badly. The Venza is a very well thought out vehicle. It is also a "tweener" - meant to fit a niche between existing vehicles where Toyota was losing to Murano when RAV4 was too small/spartan and Highlander was too truck-like. My wife's 2006 RX330 has 19,000 miles & I paid $41k new. It has 13 more months of new warranty too! Lexus will only allow $20.5 on trade in. Then they will sell it for $30k-- pigs that they are! So much for luxury cars holding their value. I got a Toyota dealer to allow $26.6 TOWARDS a 2009 Venza, loaded and I am not worried it is a first year car, etc. If something goes wrong ... I thought about it as well (Venza vs. the 2009 RX350). Several things that swayed in the Venza's favor were: - Availability of features such as the Smart Key and a backup camera without Navigation. - The Venza is a brand new design that will look "new" for at least another couple of years until the mid-model refresh. Hello Folks, Just purchased a brand new 2009 V6 AWD Venza from Darcars Toyota of Silver Spring for $33489 plus TTL. The MSRP was 37K odd and dealer claimed invoice was 33,889. It would be interesting to know if the delay is part of their marketing stragedy, or if there was a delay in delivery of the 4 cyl?
