Hi needatruck1. Toyota Financial Services' current residual value for a 36 month lease of any 2010 Tundra Double Cab 4WD with 12,000 miles per year is 56%. The problem with this residual value is that TFS only publishes residual values for base models. It places restrictions upon what options can be residualized, making its real world residual values lower than its published percentages appear. This also makes it difficult for individual ... I drive a 1/2 ton (Chevy) and seldom tow, but I frequently pass a place where there are horse shows and Big Trailers. Super Duty Fords dominate the parking lot there. I found this interesting concerning Tundras: http://news.pickuptrucks.com/2010/05/200003-tundra-owners-may-be-eligible-for-fr- ame-replacement.html Seems Toyota has a problem with frames rusting to the point the truck is unsafe. Harry
Thanks for the additional information, eaglejoe. Tennessee is in Toyota's Cincinnati region. If you were to lease a 2010 Tundra CrewMax 4WD Platinum through Toyota Financial Services in that area right now for 36 months with 12,000 miles per year, its buy rate lease money factor and residual value should be .00005 and 57%, respectively. The problem with the residual value that I mentioned is that it is for base models. ... Read More

The article I read on Dr Gilbert said when all the news came out about UA with Toyota vehicles, he became curious and experimented with his own brand new 2010 Tundra. Thanks for sharing. I assume 5K off of the invoice. I am getting quotes from pretty much ALL toyota dealers in my area (DFW) around 5-6k off of the MSRP. But, I still want to wait until March because I believe that toyota will have huge incentives on Tundra next month.
Wild, Out Of Control Toyotas? Baloney. Posted Today 11:56 AM by Arthur St. Antoine I cannot sit quietly on the sidelines any longer. This whole Toyota-recalls hoo-ha has morphed into nothing but yet another “crisis” that a ravenous media and 21st Century Americans -- a people who live better and more safely than any humans in history -- have transformed into their panic du jour. By Emily Fredrix And Erin Mcclam, The Associated Press ADVERTISEMENT Toyota executives have been virtually silent amid a recall of millions of their cars because gas pedals can become dangerously stuck. For their customers, oh, what a feeling - fear, frustration, confusion and anger. Since Tuesday, when the Japanese automaker said it would stop making and selling some of its top-selling models, the company has had few answers for dealers and ... Read More
Up to you to decide, but this pretty much sums it all up...not much more to say: It appears that Toyota has denied its sudden acceleration problem for more than 5 years. Toyota's recall for floor mat problems is not the end of the story and the company needs to do more to protect its customers and the motoring public. In March 2004, the Center For Auto Safety reported about sudden ... Read More

20.4mpg, not bad. Should get a little better as it breaks-in. I have to agree the interior is nice and roomy. I've been looking at double-cabs and the Tundra's rear seating is roomy even for adults. Better than others. thnx for posting!!
Mine just passed 1000 miles and the best so far out on the Interstate (rolling hills of WV & OH) is 20.4 mpg. Thats with a Reg Cab, Long Bed, 4X4. Not to bad for where I live (much better than my 03 Chev S-10 ZR2 by the way). I love the room and comfort of the Tundra.
No comments?? Is the 2010 Toyota Tundra 4.6 that new? thnx
Was looking at a 2010 Toyota Tundra 4.6 , (the all aluminum engine not the older 4.7) over the weekend and thinking of buying one. Nice truck, nice interior. Was wondering what mileage real world users were getting? And any problems that might have surfaced with this model? Likes and dislikes?

The President of Toyota Motor Corp. announced the other day at a press conference that Toyota will indeed build the diesel Tundra for the '10-'11 MY. It will be powered by a new "clean diesel" technology. I am guessing sequential direct injection and new catalyst technology in the exhaust manifold. Can't wait for 2010 to get here now. Something to look forward to. :D
Haha. The MTTOTY award is a complete joke. I said it last year even when the Silverado won it. The RIDGELINE won it in 2006, need I say more? BTW, the Tundra did NOT go up against the HD's in this year's test. They are compared to their own competition in their own class. This year was simply Toyota's "turn". Next year Ford or Dodge will win it, in 2010 it ... Read More
Well, the Tundra, and it's predecessor have been around 16 years now, without makiking nary a dent in the domestic full-sized market. People are discovering that if you actually want to use these trucks, however, they aren't up to the task, just like the predecessors ... Read More

I have not seen anything from Toyota talking about whether or not plans for HD versions of the Tundra are on hold or stopped altogether. Their 4.7 is used in many different vehicles, which affects Tundra in particular, and creates the 5.7 push from Toyota. Hi, I've heard rumors of a 1 ton diesel with and with out dual wheels in the rear by 2010. I've also heard Toyota was developing it with Caterpillar. Although I'm not sure why they would (develop the diesel w/ Cat) as Toyota has diesels all over the world that are very reliable engines.
Yes, the 4.7 is will still be available. My guess is that eventually the 4.7 will be discontinued. This new "1/2 ton" is built like a 3/4 ton. With it's available towing and payload capacities this new Tundra will do what 99% of what most truck buyers do with their full sized p/u. I've heard rumors that a heavier duty 3/4 and 1 ton are in development. I believe the situation ... Read More
Last I heard, toyota plans to offer a hybrid drivetrain option in ALL models by the year 2010. I don't know for sure in it will be a Tundra by then though. The plant opening in 2007 in San Antonio,TX will bring a lot to the plate for Toyota's truck buyers.
I would not start getting excited about a crew cab Tundra. Toyota needs to concentrate on important combinations like extended-cab long beds and more heavy duty versions which will probably happen in 2010. Toyota also needs to concentrate into making a comfortable extended cab. I bought a regular cab because the extended cab is uncomfortable and no long bed attached. With the present wheelbase, a crew cab will not work. The ... Read More
