STD is 15k/yr and LOW is 12k/yr. You have to move the LOW numbers over one to the right so the columns line up. TFS doesn't offer a 24 month residual for LOW. I know, weird! Yes, Toyota assigns a residual value to each individual vehicle instead of a set percentage. Some options will raise or lower the residual.

The 200K projection was for calender year 2007 which they sold 196,555. Their 2008 target goal is still 200K. Quote: "Mr. Tetherow is still optimistic about the Tundra's overall sales target for the year, saying, "The sales goal for the Tundra is to still sell 200,000 (units in 2008)." We are considering purchasing a Toyota Tundra 5.7L double cab (with the tow package.) We would like to tow a toy hauler with an estimated GVWR of 9,000, GDW of 5,449 and hitch dry weight of 764. Is anybody doing something similar? If so, what has been your experience with the Toyota Tundra. Thanks.

Going to give Toyota a try after 6 Chevys. Went today to the local dealer after doing some online shopping and research. Found an SR5 4x2 5.7L with the following options: sunroof, jbl stereo w/ bluetooth, 18" aluminum wheels, dealer added bed liner. MSRP: $34500. Talked with sales manager, he said Tier 1+ credit, 36 month 15k year lease, $780 down $450 per month INCLUDING TAX. When I went to finalize ... Read More
This is the Tundra grade version. According to a couple dealers in the area when I was calling to shop around, the price is about $1,000 below their invoice. The OTD price is $21,878.91. I got it at Toyota of Marina Del Rey, CA. Manhattan Beach Toyota had the same truck, but couldn't beat Marina Del Rey on the price. They wanted about $400 more and wouldn't go any lower. I'm ... A couple of interesting articles from Motor Trend"s Truck Trend concerning their truck of the year and its 3/4 and 1 ton competitors. Note the 0-60MPH times on all the trucks including the 4.7 Toyota especially pulling trailers. http://www.trucktrend.com/oftheyear/truck/163_0804_2008_truck_of_the_year_winner- _2008_toyota_tundra/index.html Enjoy, Billy
Mr. Rube...True enough about Big3 being tougher than Tundra. I own a 1st gen. Tundra that is a total city truck; never worked an honest day in its life. Reliable as it gets, as was my 394K '85 SR5. But, I looked at the video of the 2007 Tundra crashing and smashing around on a washboard. Disgraceful. The Ford was well-controlled, as was the GM truck. Boxed frame or not, you ... Read More

An update from my initial post on the oil requirememts for the 2008 Tundra 5.7L engine. I contacted Toyota and was told 0W-20W synthetic oil was used at the factory and is the recommended oil. I will be taking the e-mails to the dealer. They also stated if petroleum based oil is used you can't go back to synthetic. Also the stated oil requirements are right on the oil filler cap. ... A 54% residual based on 45k total miles is very realistic over 3 years, especially for a full size pick-up. Toyota subvents their leases in the form of low money factors and stays away from over-inflating their residuals. It's smart for two reasons: 1) If you like the truck and want to purchase at lease-end, the residual should be very close to wholesale, making it easy to purchase, knowing the pricing ... Read More
ocautoseeker, that was no typo, yes, I agree with you that .00029 (under 1%) was fantastic. But at only a 54% residual for 3 years, that's nothing special. Maybe a 54 % residual after 5 years (which is more typical for Toyota), but not 3. I guarantee a 3 yr old Tundra will be much higher than that to buy outright in 3 years. BTW, when I asked to come down ... Read More
