Undisputed Champion
I drove the new Silverado, Ford F-150, Nissan Titan, and the Dodge Ram with the 5.7. The new 2007 Tundra with the 5.7 destroys the competition. Handling, power, acceleration, braking, and looks, plus resale value and reliability of Toyota.
So far Reliable but could be greatly improved...
76K miles. Impressive power, smooth tranny, deep gearing helps pull heavy loads with ease, suspension is supple. With a double cab and full bed, it does flex more than I'd like it too. However, it is well mannered, predictable and quiet. I had to buy different bushings for the cab to stop the dreaded "bed bounce" issue. Mine was unbearable before. Interior-other than the stereo being hard to reach from where i sit, some of the plastics are kind of cheap feeling. If driven at 65 it will do what it states. I average 16.4 with 90% freeway in So Cal (pretty flat). 70-75 mph. Also, it says it has a 26 gallon tank - but I've never filled more than 21...
Best truck in Class by far!
This truck can do it all. Haul 2,000 lbs all day long with plenty of acceleration left. Tows great. The best gas mileage for the big V-8s. Very comfortable for the road trips. And what other truck can you also get Bluetooth and a nav system in it? The back-up camera is a must for those who tow. Well designed truck with the option for the deck rail system making the task of securing the load very easy. Tons of storage between underseat compartment, two glove compartments and the center console that is large enough to hold hanging files and a laptop! Nine cupholders!
The Beast Truck Of All Trucks!!!
The performance on this vehicle is amazing. Toyota really hit a grand slam with this one! From its design utility and performance is the best truck money can buy!! Trust me I drove them all and this truck by far exceeds all expectation of truck buyer.
2007 4-door 2-wheel drive 5.7L
the absolutely only question is my Tundra 2007 & my 2000 out of the blue will not start. Batteries are new or somewhat new, but always test fully charged! Seems to be a Tundra or Toyota glitch. Has anyone experienced this problem??
